My visit to (Dubai)
After the ten days spent there, it is clear to me that a visit to Dubai is necessary for anyone interested in what is new in the world and the direction in which we can go. Dubai is the city of the future and if in other cities I was impressed by the beauty of the places, in Dubai I was impressed by the way technology and engineering were put at the service of man, the perfect way everything was thought, from the incredible infrastructure, the public transport for which no details were forgotten, the speed with which entire neighborhoods were built and the way in which you can achieve all of these - with a lot of money, of course, but also looking to the future, a future in which many countries do not I dare to aspire. It was clear to me that there were urban plans in Dubai and they worked together and knew from the beginning what they want to achieve and why. It wasn't as chaotic as it is with us - today we make some blocks and tomorrow we'll see if we can build a subway there.
But more than that I think.
I was impressed by their openness to the new and to the West, I did not expect that in an Arab country it would be so easy for me to travel on my own, to find everywhere, but absolutely everywhere, bilingual indicators (Arabic and English), to have voice announcements in English everywhere, I can speak to any emirate in English, even if he was just a bus driver, to be in an Arab country without anyone taking me on the street and without paying any attention, I can go at midnight on the street and be safe, the taxi driver doesn't pick me up and I can pay with my card everywhere, including in a taxi, etc.
Although I have had the tendency to disregard it a little because it is artificial and too trying to evade at any price, it is a place that impresses you and is one step (or more) ahead of other cities with claims. In five years, if I go there again, I think I will find a whole new city that will amaze me with other things
