'Ta Limanaki' or 'The small ports' is actually not really one beach. It is more a cluster of small bays, on the rocks, that stretch from Vouliagmeni (Βουλιαγμένη) down to Varkiza (Βάρκιζα).

The main reason why you will find a lot of people here is because the waters are very deep and so very refreshing. Because of this though, I believe these places are not really suitable for families with smaller children.

In the second port, there is a place which is called 'The Blue Hole'. This is a vertical shaft, with a width of about 3 meters, that goes as deep as 30 meters.

As you can see on the picture above, the horizontal shaft (on the left) is 'Prohibited Area'. That means that it is closed for the public by a fence. This fence was put here after 3 US army divers died here in 1978. Because of this dramatic event the 'Blue Hole' is better know by the locals as 'The Devils Hole'. The fence, due to the strong currents and the test of time, has eroded and so it is again possible to enter the cave system but please, if you come here, KEEP IT SAFE.

It is believed that this horizontal corridor is connected, through a complex of caves, with Vouliagmeni Lake.

As of (June) 2020 a rope is tightened up over the 3rd port. So can you practice 'Tightrope walking' here and measure how balanced you are in life.

In some of the ports (the 3th and up) nudism is tolerated. Some of them (the 4th and up) are mainly visited by men.

So as you understand there is for everyone a place for pleasure here in the small ports of Vouliagmeni.

You can tell from the pictures that this is a very rough area so don't expect any accommodation here. If there is anything you might need (drink, food, umbrella, ...) make sure you take it all with you!

Also take into account that the sun burns very insidious here on these limestone rocks and there are no trees to find, not even a single centimetre, shade . So if you are sensitive to sunlight, also bring a lot of sun cream.
