The 'Ναυτικό όμιλο 3' or 'nautical club 3' beach in Anavyssos (Ανάβυσσος) is one of the 'hidden gems' I wrote about before. It is a very nice, yet very small, pebbled beach that is not well known by most of the Athenians.
If you come here, most of the times, you will not find a single living soul. That is why, especially in 2020, I believe this is a very nice opportunity to practice 'social distancing'.
The waters are very clear and throughout the day the sea is mostly calm. So it is also a very nice place to explore, as a family, with smaller children.
This beach has whatsoever no accommodation at all. So if there is anything you might need (drink, food, bed or umbrella) make sure you take it all with you!
There are some shops though, from the nearby village of Saronida, that deliver coffee, snacks or pizza on the beach. Examples are 'Joy's & Pro' (+302291061010) or 'Sueltos Café Bar Restaurant' (+302291061331).
As said before, this beach is very small and can so be enjoyed, all day long, in a private way.
This beach is, by car, about 40 km. away from the city center of Athens (Syntagma square) and is very easy approachable as it is directly next to the main road, Sounio Avenue (Λεωφόρου Αθηνών-Σουνίου), that connects Athens with Sounio (the most southern tip of Attica). Next to this road you will always find a safe way to park your car.
I like this place especially in the late afternoon (evening) as it has a very beautiful sunset.
