OVER 100 Lots of luxury goods including 47.79 bitcoin (BTC) seized by government agencies across the UK, are going under the virtual hammer on Thursday 5th November at Wilsons Auctions Room.

The valuable assets - which are being auctioned along with 10oz of gold, high-value watches and a selection of 22ct gold jewellery - will be put up for sale on Wednesday 4th November from 2pm and will time-out from 2pm on Thursday 5th November, giving potential buyers a 24-hour window of opportunity to bid online.

The Bitcoin will be split across 44 Lots ranging from 0.25 to 3 bitcoin, allowing bidders across the world an opportunity to invest in cryptocurrency.

Potential bidders will have to pre-register and make a deposit of 500 Euros - full details of requirements can be found at the company website along with cryptocurrency transaction procedures for the Lot winners.

Speaking on the upcoming sale, Wilsons Auctions’ Government Sales Coordinator, Michael Streight said, "...being able to offer this secure solution to clients and remove the risks that can be associated with trading with unregulated virtual currency exchanges, has been a welcome addition to our award winning auction service, as well as giving new and experienced investors the opportunity to buy cryptocurrencies from an established auction house.”

Wilsons Auctions' Asset Recovery Department works with 17 countries worldwide realising assets from cryptocurrency to supercars, luxury watches and designer goods and in recent years has realised over £120 million worth of seized assets for government agencies, law enforcement agencies and insolvency practitioners.

The Auction house has previously held Bitcoin auctions as well as ones for Monero and various altcoins.

Other Items

For those with a materialistic mindset rather than a digital one, the auction will also hosting a variety of watches including an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Michael Schumacher, a Rolex Sky-Dweller and a Cartier Tank Watch.


Other highlights within the auction will include some of the world’s most luxurious designer brands including handbags by Hermes, Chanel and Louis Vuitton as well as a unique opportunity to purchase a 1930’s Steamer Trunk from the iconic luxury Parisian brand, Goyard.


Described as being in good condition, the Goyard Trunk comes with an RMS Queen Elizabeth Maiden Voyage Passenger List and has an original Cunard Line Shipping Label from an RMS Queen Elizabeth sailing on 20th April 1955 from New York to Southampton.
