The giant internet browser Opera adds the functionality of buying crypto via the built-in crypto wallet. With the new option, only US users will able to buy Bitcoin and Ethereum, and the daily limit for purchasing is $250.
To enable crypto options on its site, Opera partners with e-payments company Wyre. According to the partnership, the users will buy the cryptocurrencies via debit card on android devices. On the other hand, iOS users can get this facility via Apple Pay.

Opera entered into the crypto arena back in 2018 when they added a build-in crypto wallet with its new version- Web 3.0. The addition of digital assets utility at that time was praised by the community. Getting the green light from users, the browser then expanded its operation to various countries including Norway, Denmark, and Sweden.
But this time, Opera has a plan to hit US users. Currently, this new facility for purchasing Bitcoin and Ethereum is only for US citizens, but the company can expand to other geographical regions if they get a positive response.
The head of the crypto at Opera, Charles Hamel, said:
‘’In the past, obtaining cryptocurrencies was a cumbersome process that took hours or even days. When you compare it with this seamless solution, which takes less than 30 seconds, it really is a gamechanger.’’
The wallet option on their browser app will facilitate users to buy Bitcoin and Ethereum and then store assets in Opera’s built-in wallet. ‘’Allowing our users to easily load cryptocurrency into their browser’s digital wallet is very powerful, as it connects the Web to a global internet-native payment network,’’ Hamel added.
