Following news on the Chia blog, the pooling protocol testing entered phase 2. That means the code is done and is being tested now. The only possibility to cause more changes and further delays are that bug would be found during the test phase. I suppose that most of the pools and would be pools that are already waiting for a new protocols should be able to provide an appropriate server in around week or two.
The supposed date for the new client (version 1.2.0) is during the week commencing of 5th of July, but the date can change. The chance that the potential pools can test the code on testnet there is 25% of chance that currently created pool enabled plots will not work with a final version. I am also curious how quickly the new version of MadMax plotter would be released to all the quicker creation of plots. The MadMax software is the open-source plotter that supports the multi-threaded processors better than the default chia one. As a result, the plot creation can take half of the time of default plotter time.
It is good news for Chia farmers as it would mean that we can stop using hpool and core-pool. However, I would advise against the re-ploting as 25% is a high probability of the plot not being compatible with version 1.2.0.
