Many people don’t want to believe that the media and Democrat-Fascist politicians are spewing lies and calling it news. Here is a video of Nancy Pelosi explaining how it works. She says, “It’s called the wrap-up smear”.
Nancy Pelosi: The Wrap-Up Smear Explained
“You demonize… and we call it the wrap-up smear… You smear somebody, with falsehoods and all the rest, and then you merchandise it.”
Looking at the press, she said,
“and then you write it, and I’ll say, see, it’s reported in the press that this, this, this, and this. So they have that validation that the press reported the smear. And then it’s called the wrap-up smear. Now I’m gonna merchandise the press’ report on the smear that we made. That’s a tactic and it’s self-evident.”
She admits to the press that she’s lying to them and yet they still do her bidding and continue to spread these lies for her. Do you want someone to represent you in Congress who knowingly demonizes people using lies? How can you believe anything she says with this admission. She doesn’t deserve to represent anyone. I believe she deserves prosecution for many crimes. But I’m not going to talk any more about that here.
She is not the only one. This is a tactic of the Democrat party. How many times did the head of the intel committee, Adam Schiff, lie about “Russian collusion”? Being the head of the intel committee he KNEW it was ALL A LIE and went (and still does) on to smear our beloved President Trump.
Isn’t this illegal? Can the News Legally Lie to the Public? The claim is that lies are protected in our first amendment. Even the FCC has a policy against it. But it’s only a policy and it is completely ignored.
In my research, I found that anyone can lie about anything without retribution with few exceptions. Citizens (or ordinary people) can’t lie to law enforcement without the possibility of prosecution. (Today, because of our corrupt justice system, you can even be accused of lying and be prosecuted even though you're telling the truth.)
The only other exception I found was defamation. However, if you’re a public figure being defamed, restitution is difficult to attain. This is explained in the Wikipedia page, According to New York Times Co. v. Sullivan. Merriam-Webster says the definition of defamation is…
The act of communicating false statements about a person that injure the reputation of that person.
So apparently you can lie about any public figure and the chances of retribution are slim. If however, the lies are about an ordinary person and it does harm to their reputation, that can be costly.
One example is when the MSM intentionally defamed Nick Sandmann causing him to be harassed. CNN and the Washington Post had to pay Nick Sandmann restitution. His lawsuits were for $275 million (CNN) and $250 million (WaPo). But the actual amount he received is not public information. There were lawsuits against other outlets as well. I would hope it was a large enough amount for them to quit. But apparently it’s not, because they recently did the same thing to Kyle Rittenhouse. I hope he sues them too.
Allowing this to continue hurts our country. It’s a tool that takes away our rights. Many of the lies are allowing manipulation, like the COVID information. The government is using these lies to enact tyranny. It’s time we held the media and politicians accountable for knowingly and deliberately lying to us. Mistakes are understandable, but that is not what’s happening today.
