Some people claim that open borders help everyone. Some say for a nation to have borders is racist. Let's look at some facts to find the truth.
Let's begin with the cost for those traveling thousands of miles to get to the border. It is a very expensive endeavor. A reputable coyote requires $7,000 (USD) per person (or more depending on their country of origin). This covers bribes for officials and criminal organizations and the fee for the coyote. They can try going on their own but not knowing who needs to be bribed and how much they need for that makes it unsafe. Cheaper coyotes either miss judged the costs or have no plans on helping them and sometimes sell the immigrants to criminals.

It is reported that 60 to 80 percent of women get sexually assaulted on their journey to the southern border of the U.S. Not the kind of odds I would want.

The journey is not safe for anyone, including the men or boys that may be attacked and robbed as well. There is really no way to know the number of people who are attacked and/or murdered on their trek to the U.S. from Central America. But there is no doubt that there are many dangers for those people. Even without the dangers of rape, robbery, and murder, there are the dangers of walking thousands of miles, especially in the hot months.
Human trafficking is also a danger for those trying to cross the border illegally. According to the article Human trafficking and migrant smuggling "Smuggled migrants are often put in dangerous situations by smugglers (such as a hazardous sea crossings), and might therefore become victims of other crimes during the smuggling process, including severe human rights violations."
An article from fairus.org (Human Trafficking—Exploitation of Illegal Aliens) says...
"While anyone can become a victim of trafficking, illegal aliens are highly vulnerable to being trafficked due to a combination of factors, including lack of legal status and protections..."
What about U.S. citizens? How are we affected by so many illegals coming into our country? I realize that not everyone coming here illegally is violent but some are. Since the communist/socialist/democrats have opened the border they are not vetting anyone coming in to see if they are good for this country.
How many of those are terrorists sneaking in with the group? We know some have been caught in the past. How do we know there aren't more coming in now? The answer is simple... WE DON'T! In addition to possible terrorists coming in, some violent criminals are making it through. I realize not everyone (probably not the majority) is violent, but how many of them do you want in your country? According to Tucker Carlson...

It was an awful crime, but the worst part was it didn’t need to happen. Authorities had been aware for years that the killer was living illegally in this country. What about illnesses? How many have COVID? Some think as many as 50%, however, this number is speculative, but we do know the number is NOT ZERO. How many are bringing in other diseases from their country that we don't have? Who's paying for their health care. I do know the answer to that one... The American taxpayer! Illegals get free health care and free legal counsel and some get welfare ALL PAID FOR BY THE LAW-ABIDING TAXPAYERS! (I guess it pays to break the law, at least our immigration laws.)
We have people living in the streets. Look at California. If we can afford to take care of illegals, then we can afford to take care of our own citizens. If we can't take care of our citizens, then we can't take care of others!!! What about jobs, especially after the shut downs due to COVID. How many jobs do the illegals take from citizens? Some want to tell you that citizens won't do those jobs. It's not true. If it was true, then have the immigrants apply and come in legally to do the jobs.
Illegals who vote dilute the votes of citizens (I know, not all of them will vote). Many people don't want us to believe this happens. But if they are willing to break one law, why not vote too? So who benefits... the politicians these people would vote for.... democrats. Also, if these people are counted in the census for the purpose of calculating how many representatives each state gets, then again, the democrats gain.
Criminal organizations benefit from the illegals. Open borders help them send drugs across and it allows them to deal in human trafficking and/or human smuggling.
So besides voting and representation, I have to wonder what other benefits there are for having millions of illegals in our country. The democrats push so hard for this it makes me wonder if any of them are getting kick-backs. I don't know, I can't prove anything, but it sure begs the question. Look at the net worth of politicians. For most, it doesn't match up with their annual salary. Check for yourself. I am not calling out any particular individuals. Do the research.
Back to the question of who benefits. Criminal organizations definitely benefit and possibly some politicians and anyone else who might be getting kickbacks from those organizations. The U.S. citizens are worse off. There are more tax dollars spent, jobs lost, and safety compromised by allowing illegals to freely enter.
