Where to Cut?

Where to Cut?

By Deejo | Thinking-Out-Loud | 17 Sep 2021

Recently Nancy Pelosi asked her colleagues what to cut from the 3.5 trillion dollar budget she was proposing. She didn't ask me... but... I would say, First, they should stop supporting illegals pouring into this country with the offer of free money and free healthcare. We have millions of illegals in this country. How many of them are getting government money? The article posted by "The Hill" in April 2019, Your taxpayer dollars are footing the spiraling costs of illegal immigration says...

"The costs of illegal immigration are comprehensive. Even after deducting the $19 billion in taxes paid by illegal immigrants, the 12.5 million of them living in the country results in a $116 billion burden on the economy and taxpayers each year."

I found an article that addresses 50 examples of government waste. I thought number 11 was an example of waste beyond comprehension. This article was written in 2009 but my guess is that there is more waste today, 12 years later.

"The Pentagon recently spent $998,798 shipping two 19-cent washers from South Carolina to Texas and $293,451 sending an 89-cent washer from South Carolina to Florida."

Another easy answer is to stop supporting most other countries until we get back on our feet. And permanently stop supporting terrorist countries. We shouldn't be supporting them anyway! Politicians may say they don't, but they do. Did you see the pile of cash they gave the Taliban when we left Afghanistan? Not only did they leave billions of dollars worth of equipment behind, but they left cold hard cash too. (Probably millions.) Why was there so much cash lying around? Looks deliberate to me. In addition, don't they give money to the Palestinian government for "humanitarian aid"? I'm pretty sure not a lot of that money goes to what we would consider "humanitarian aid"... but rather the Palestinian government gives money to their war machine and the families of terrorists as a type of Martyr's reward. So by supporting that government, they are supporting terrorists.

People talk about cutting back on the "entitlement" programs. If they are talking about people who "feel entitled" to receive welfare or other government assistance... I agree. If they are talking about Social Security, I disagree. Social Security is money that taxpayers and employers were FORCED to pay into. That is OUR MONEY! That was only supposed to be used for social security. However, the politicians have stolen from it in the past and now they are whining that there's not enough.

Stop encouraging and enticing people to be on welfare. Quit cutting jobs. Whether it's killing small businesses with vaccine/mask/distance mandates or shutting down the pipeline, etc. Losing all those pipeline jobs hurt more than the pipeline workers, but all the companies that supported them as well. Even restaurants and other businesses in those construction areas. More jobs mean fewer people on unemployment or welfare.

Stop buying vaccines, that many Americans don't even want, and giving money to their Big Pharma friends.

All this is without looking at the bill. I don't need to see it to know all this "pork" is in it. If anyone examined the bill I'm sure they could easily find more pork to trim.

Thank you for reading.
