Tuesday was a sad day in Oakland County, Michigan when a 15-year old boy killed four students at Oxford high school. Tate Myre, 16, was one of the four who lost his life. He was trying to disarm the shooter. We can never know how many lives he saved by this act of bravery. He is a hero!
There were warning signs that were ignored, AGAIN! But sadly, that won’t stop the left from doing what they always do... play on emotions and call for more gun control. They think we’re too stupid to realize that criminals don’t care about laws. Wasn’t the school already a gun-free zone? We know that it’s illegal to kill someone, but did that stop him? Criminals like gun control laws because it disarms their potential victims.
Gun control kills more people than allowing law-abiding citizens to have guns. An article on the website guncontroltruth discusses Kennesaw, Georgia vs. Morton Grove, Illinois.
In 1981 Morton Grove passed a law forbidding the private ownership of handguns. In 1982 Kennesaw, Georgia responded by passing a law requiring all households to own a gun (with very few exceptions). Kennesaw grew in population over the next 10 years and crime would normally increase, but the opposite happened.
”Immediately after the passage of Kennesaw’s law, the amount of burglaries was cut in half. Violent crime within the city dropped at all levels. The community did not suffer a murder for years after that, and according the police chief at the time that was done by a knife.“
If we look at Morton Grove over the next year after private ownership of handguns was banned, violent crime increased by 15% at the same time surrounding areas only increased by 3%.
AmericanGunFacts.com talks about the effects of gun control. They say that 57% of felons are more afraid of armed citizens than cops and that 94% of mass shootings are in gun-free zones. They also talk about the extent that guns are used in self-defense which the MSM and Democrat-Fascists don’t want you to know about.
“25.3 Million Americans (31% of gun owners) have used a gun in self defense.
In nearly 82% of these cases, the gun was never fired.
According to the National Research Council study done during Obama’s presidency,
guns are used for self defense between:
500,000 – 3 Million Times Every Year
(1,369 – 8,219 Times Every Day)
Because many cases of self defense are not reported to the police, this number may be even higher.
Louder With Crowder, in the linked video, talks about the shooting and the warning signs that were ignored. One of the messages they missed said, “‘Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.’ See you tomorrow, Oxford.”
How did no one see this? Or did they and they did nothing? This is the problem, not guns.
