As you might have surmised from my previous posts. I am not a super big fan of the generated NFTs that appear to be flooding the market. But a free thing is a free thing. And it is not one of those autogenerated profile pictures either. =)
Get your free ōLand
So what is it you will get? Well, it is your own floating island. Does it have any use, well not so far? But who knows, floating islands are pretty cool. And if they managed to do some interesting stuff with them they might take off, and I mean that both literally and figuratively. ;)
So getting in early and grabbing a free one might not be a bad deal. They are offering anyone who signs up their own free island with a whopping 1.67 acres of land. If this is a lot or not, I can't tell you. I guess it depends on the use the islands will have. The important thing to note however is the offer will end on September 14th. So there are only a few days for you to be able to get in and nab a free-floating island.
The ōLand is part of the Overline's wireless metaverse. And it appears that the land can be used to mine rewards. And the amount will be based on the wireless activity on the plot. Exactly what that means in reality I could not tell you. But it appears to be a project in a similar vein to Helium. Where you can buy a wireless hotspot to help you generate income.
This means I can't really recommend anyone buying one of these, not with the mess going on over at Helium where the network appears to have 0 users. Hopefully, the islands will allow for more use on the network. This is why I am just happy to get my free NFT and sit back and see where things go from here.
