As people are sifting through the list of transactions made public by Celsius in their bankruptcy hearing. The people on the internet seem to have found a target for their rage.
The newest Celsius victim
The target they have found is a popular Bitcoin- and Ethereum Astrologer, Maren Altman. In the list of transactions, there are two payments to her totaling $30,000. These payments were made for marketing purposes.

Saying that she received the payments to make favorable content about Celsius, this at the same time the company where having cash flow issues. This was back in March of 2022, “in exchange for 2 (two) YouTube video mid-roll advertisements per calendar month and 2 (two) mentions of Celsius delivered on Tik Tok.”
Maren Altman made a name for herself by providing astrology-based investment advice to her 1.8 million followers across Tik Tok, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram. And most of the followers were gained during the last bull run.
Apparently, the criticism of her has turned quite vicious as well. And it really intensified when they dug up an interview she did with Alex Mashinsky. In the comments section, people are asking if he paid her in $CEL tokens. And she has here denied getting paid.
This then intensified the witch hunt even more and people saw she had been paid. But she later clarified that she was not paid for the interview, she did that as a favor to Alex. There have however been a few voices of reason, highlighting that she indeed actually is a victim as well. As she herself had money invested in Celsius.
My thoughts on it
It is looking more and more like people are becoming desperate and frustrated with the situation. Trying to find someplace to vent their frustration, and even more so someone to blame for this whole mess. And it looks to me like Maren Altman just found herself in an unfortunate situation at an unfortunate time. As an influencer, getting paid for content is nothing new, whether it is in the crypto space or not.
She herself even says the add, to here is “no different than me doing a fashion ad for a company”. While I holed scam-pushing influencers in not very high regard. I do not think that this sort of witch hunt is the way to go, ever. Not even for a crypto astrologer giving investment advice based on astrology readings.
And yes, I am trying to not chuckle every time I am writing that sentence. But I do think that she should start using here astrology to figure out if she should take on a client or not. I mean that would be the very leash she should do, right?
