I saw a link that said unclaimed property. In the past I’ve clicked links that stated they would show me if I have any unclaimed property only to find out that for them to search for my property I had to sign up to receive a ton of junk mail and sometimes even need to sign up for some paid subscriptions. Needless to say I tried to do these things hoping that I was going to find some cash at the end of all the signups and subscriptions. I filled out form after form wondering when they were gonna show me the results of my unclaimed property search . After filling out form after form I finally got to a point where I said to myself forget it, this is so much work and now I’m gonna receive a ton of junk mail so I gave up. Back to the Edison website. So as I was looking for some HVAC classes to sign up for on the Edison website I noticed a link for unclaimed property so I clicked on it. It then directed me to the California State Controllers website. Here is a link to take you where you need to go.

You might be thinking what property do I have that’s unclaimed. It could be from an inheritance or an overpayment on a cell phone bill or a number of other things. See what happens is when someone has money that belongs to you they are obligated to report it to the state controller after three years and then nobody ever notifies you that the money is there so it just sits there waiting for you to claim it. By the way , about half the people I show this to have found money for themselves. So since I’m showing it to you I would hope you’re going to pass the word on and show your family and friends. There are some names on the site that have a whole bunch of money owed to them so check it out and you may be that person. Obviously if you’re not living in California then there will be a different website for you to go to. As far as people not living in the USA I would research it through your local government to see if they have a similar program in your country.

Once you get to the page you want to find the part when it asks for your name and address and property # . Start out by searching only under your name. The more info you fill in on this form the less results that will appear. Once the results pop up you should look down the list for addresses that you’ve lived at. If you see your name there and the address matches somewhere you’ve previously lived then that is your money. You need to then add it to your cart and once you have found all of your property you go to checkout. Then you’ll need to fill out some forms with your personal details and once submitted you’ll receive your funds in about 3 weeks by mail.
