Crypto Is Starting to Disappear
I noticed something about crypto recently that I found pretty interesting.
I think crypto is slowly becoming less visible.
And honestly, I think that's a good thing.
Think about it.
You can now spend stablecoins through cards. Tokenized versions of traditional assets are moving onto blockchains. And AI agents are being discussed as future users of stablecoins for things like data and computing power.
But here's the funny part:
None of that really feels like “crypto.”
You just tap a card.
You buy an asset.
An AI pays for an API.
And somewhere underneath all of that, a blockchain is quietly doing its job.
That's very different from the crypto world I remember.
Back then, using crypto usually meant knowing what a wallet was, understanding different networks, worrying about gas fees and double-checking every address before sending anything.
It could feel complicated.
Now it feels like the industry is slowly trying to hide all that complexity.
And when I thought about it, I realized something.
Maybe that's exactly what should happen.
Think about the internet.
When you open YouTube, send a message or order something online, you're not sitting there thinking about servers and internet protocols.
You just use it.
Maybe crypto is heading in the same direction.
Instead of everyone needing to understand wallets and blockchains, people might eventually just use services that happen to run on them.
And if that happens, something pretty funny could happen.
We could be using crypto every day...
without even realizing we're using crypto.
The internet became huge when people stopped worrying about how the internet worked.
Maybe blockchain follows the same path.
We might eventually use blockchain-based money and assets every day without thinking about the word “blockchain” at all.
And if that happens...
crypto won't disappear.
It will simply become invisible.
