Don't Stay Larva, Become a Butterfly And Life Will Never Be Dull Again

Don't Stay Larva, Become a Butterfly And Life Will Never Be Dull Again

Larvae are ugly, unwelcomed consumers of leaves. You would never imagine children chasing larvae.

You would never dare to say that you feel it in your stomach. If you bought lettuce and found holes, it’s not a sign of a Swiss quality product. It means that someone enjoyed your lettuce before you.

If a larva eats enough and doesn’t get carried away by a handsome bird or human, it enters transformation. It’s also known as a period of the cocoon. That’s where the magic happens. Cocoon is the ultimate dressing room where the ugly larva turns into a magnificent-looking butterfly.

There’s a beautiful picture for every believer.

The cocoon

The cocoon is the most mysterious place in this process. It’s like coming back to the egg and hatching again. First hatch ugly, second one glorious. It sounds like being born again!

What deserves the most praise? Is it the larva, cocoon, or butterfly? Neither of them. The Creator must receive all the glory. He programmed this change not only in the ugly larva but in every Christian.

There was a time when I was an ugly worm. Upon the first hatching, I had the joy to see the world. I knew God called me to something great and I had great expectations. Sadly, my joy depleted and I found myself as an ugly larva. I couldn’t fly nor impress others no matter how hard I tried.

One day God told me that He desires to be with me. That’s when He called me to make a cocoon. I didn’t even know there was such a thing!

It’s not like God wanted to fix me. There was nothing wrong with me. I had to recognize my potential and step into it. I decided to spend time with the Creator in secret. Soon enough, everything started to change.

“But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.” (Matthew 6:6, ESV).

I surrendered my own efforts to achieve something in life and put myself into the arms of God’s grace. He wrapped me up in His love. I stopped seeing my ugliness because the white-washed robe was given to me. God made no way for me to escape the reality of being made righteous through the Sacrifice of Jesus.

A butterfly Christian

“For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.” (Romans 8:29, ESV).

If being a Christian became dull for you, if you experience fear and feel like you’re stuck on the ground, know that it’s not the end. You are still turning into a butterfly.

Time in the cocoon is never wasted. The process of transformation can’t be sped up. The potential of being a butterfly is inevitably approaching. Have patience and trust because the Creator knows what He’s doing.

Everyone who trusts in Jesus is predestined to reach God-given potential. When you know your destination, every step is progress.

Your job is to come into the secret place and receive God’s love, goodness, grace and forgiveness. He’s ready to exchange the old with the new. He’s willing to renew you. Allow Him to finish the work He started so you can spread your wings.

“When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.” (Colossians 3:4, ESV).
