What is the "Bee Network" and Should I Try it Out?

By AverageVancouverite | TheMiningBlog | 25 Dec 2020

What in the World is the Bee Network?

Like the Pi Network and Phoneum, the Bee Network is yet another phone-based cryptocurrency that can be cloud-mined on an Android or iOS device without actually using the phone's power and hardware for computationally-intensive mining. The Bee Network aims at delivering blockchain technology to as many people as possible, and provides a gamified cryptocurrency experience. Since the Bee Network is still very new, like the Pi Network, early users will have increased cloud-mining rates.

However, in my personal opinion, Bee Network feels suspiciously like the Pi Network, with an interface and roadmap that looks extremely similar. The Bee Network also uses a system where mining rates are halved every time the total number of users passes a certain point, and also has "Mining Teams" along with a referral system that looks like a copy of the Pi Network. On the other hand, the Bee Network app looks a little cleaner and more polished, and feels a lot more intuitive. This does not immediately mean that the Bee Network is not worth your time or definitely a scam. It just means that someone out there saw the potential of the Pi Network and decided to keep some aspects and go another direction in other aspects.

What's Bee worth?

Like the Pi Network, Bee is currently not worth anything. According to the roadmap, the developers aim to have the Bee Network fully launched and possess market value by 2024. In other words, Bee could end up being worth a lot, worth a little, or potentially worth nothing at all.

So... How Do I Earn Some Bee?

Simple! All you need to do to get started is to download the Bee Network app, sign up, and tap the "Start Mining" button. However, you'll need to use a referral code (Feel free to use my code to check it out: ryanruan) Like the Pi Network, you'll have to return to the app every single day to press the button again.

Okay... so... It's like the Pi Network. What's the risk here?

Obviously, the biggest risk is a security one, as to participate in the Pi Network, users must download the app. However, unlike the Pi Network, the Bee Network's website has no information about the actual team (A faceless team may be questionable!), and the whitepaper is extremely short (The middle third of the paper just talks about what cryptocurrencies are and discusses the infamous 10,000 Bitcoin pizza... Just look at the screenshot below...). The timeline is not totally clear either.

On the other hand, because the app is free, you don't need to use computing power or data to mine, and there's nothing to pay for, even in the case that Bee is worth next to nothing or even nothing, you don't really loose all that much. All you really lose is a couple seconds a day. And hey, if it's worth something, you just made a little profit! Regardless, the Bee Network is a way for some people to learn more about cryptocurrencies.

Final Verdict

Personally, I feel like the Bee Network is ultimately a clone of the Pi Network with a few upgrades here and there, but lacks transparency as there is no information about the team and the roadmap just looks like a copy of that of the Pi Network. Like Pi, Bee is easy to earn (Just tap a button every day) and is relatively risk free (Since the app is in the Apple App store, it likely is not malicious and the company/project must provide proof it exists like providing a valid DUNS number). Even though it's not clear how successful Bee will be, and even if it turns out to be a worthless coin, you're really not losing much downloading and running the app.

So... If you're curious about what Bee is all about, or want to become an early adopter in a cryptocurrency with potential to grow, feel free to check out the app and use my referral code: ryanruan

Disclaimer: I am NOT a financial advisor, and my reviews/overviews of cryptocurrencies, platforms, projects, and miners are based on my own personal experience. Everyone has different experiences. I am not affiliated with the Bee Network or Pi Network team, and am simply writing an article about an interesting application/cryptocurrency I found. I am not recommending people to download the app, nor recommending people to stay away. The referral code is simply there so that if you support my content and what to find out a little more about the Bee Network, you're free to do so. No investment is a guarantee. Remember, whether is stocks, real estate, or cryptocurrencies, only invest what you can afford to lose!
