Passive Income? Pawns.App Review! Too good to be true?

By AverageVancouverite | TheMiningBlog | 24 Jan 2023

Hi everyone! For those who follow me, due to the high cost of mining equipment and electricity prices, I have been unable to get my hands on any new miners. I hope to have something new soon, but no promises! Anyways, about 4 months ago, I learned of a platform called "Pawns.App", which is apparently quite similar to Honeygain (If you haven't seen my review of Honeygain, please feel free to check it out here). Like Honeygain, Pawns.App also shares your unused internet traffic and earns you a couple bucks here and there. As a lover of passive income and some extra spending bucks, I couldn't resist checking out the new find. Like when I first started using Honeygain, I approached Pawns.App cautiously, preparing myself for the worst.

Cool, tell me how Pawns.App works!

After installing Pawns.App to your Windows, Linux, MacOS, or even Raspberry Pi device, the application basically either acts as a proxy to allow users or businesses from other nations avoid geo-restrictions, national firewalls or IP bans, or other internet restrictions, or will run queries for companies for testing/optimization purposes or data/market research. Based on their website, Pawns.App does NOT track personal data to sell to companies or mine cryptocurrencies using your computer, but simply use your internet to primarily either allow users to avoid blocks or help companies with query-based research. However, as always, for these passive income companies, please take what the platform claims with a grain of salt, and make sure you do your own research!

Have you had any issues with Pawns.App? Have you been blocked by any website or triggered any warnings anywhere?

Personally, I haven't had an issue with Pawns.App, and just based off of reviews online, it seems like fewer people have troubles or problems with Pawns.App than HoneyGain. I haven't noticed any drop in internet speed, any blocked/banned websites, or anything else of notice so far. While the admins claim to monitor usage for anything suspicious or illegal, I personally have no clue how they actually do this or if they do anything... so... Just a note of caution, as always, for passive income projects.

How long does it take to reach a payout? How does it pay out?

The minimum withdrawal of Pawns.App is $5 USD, and if you're in Canada like I am, you can withdraw through PayPal, Bitcoin (Yes, they pay in Bitcoin but the fee was something like $1.50 USD), or through gift cards like Amazon. As the platform pays $0.20 per GB, a payout means that you share 25GB of data. While this might seem like a lot of data, if you're someone with unlimited data, this is a pretty simple way to make a couple bucks here and there!

In my experience, I had 3 devices with Pawns.App installed, and I was able to accumulate my first $5 USD in a matter of about 9 days. Please note that like Honeygain, Pawns.App can only run on one device per IP address. The payouts seem to be a little more reliable than Honeygain, at least in my experience, as I accumulated roughly the same amounts each month (Some months were better than others). $5 every few days isn't a lot, but the extra cash means I could put just a little more into crypto, stocks, investments, or myself.

Also, if you use a mobile version of Pawns.App, you can take surveys for some extra cents here and there. I personally haven't done any because I'm not the survey-taking kind of guy, but hey, someone out there might like 'em more than I do.

Can I run this with Honeygain?

Yes! I personally run Honeygain AND Pawns.App on each of my 3 devices, which means I get two sources of passive income! So far, I haven't noticed any decline in revenue in either since running them together, though Honeygain seems to be paying everyone less these days.

What's your final verdict on Pawns.App?

Let's say you want to make some change by doing nothing, have a ton of unused data or even unlimited data, and also don't mind others sharing your internet. Then in that case, Pawns.App probably isn't a bad thing to try out. Personally, I've received several payouts from the platform, and have tried both the PayPal and Bitcoin payout options. Both have a small fee for cashout, with the Bitcoin option charging $1.50 and the PayPal option charging 4%. So... My final verdict? It's not bad!

Note: Though I use Pawns.App, I am not affiliated with the team in any way, nor am I endorsing or rejecting the use of their platform. I am not a financial advisor nor internet/network security advisor either. I am simply sharing my review of Pawns.App to my followers and other users on Publish0X.
