During my journey through the space of cryptocurrency, I have discovered many ways to earn more cryptocurrency rather than just HODLing. I have since been putting my crypto to work for me, earning rewards and interest payments on the coins I have instead of just letting them sit there in my wallet and gather cryptographic dust. The main two ways that I have been earning and we'll be focusing on is staking and interest crypto savings accounts.
Staking
I first discovered staking when I downloaded the Coinbase app. They offered Tezos staking at 5.3% APY. Now, I'm not really recommending Coinbase for staking because they charge huge fees on your staking rewards; however, I didn't know better and some income was definitely better than none. Since then, found TrustWallet. I decided to buy some Tron (TRX) and I began staking 20000 TRX on TrustWallet. With that amount, and the tiny 0.74% APY, I was earning about $0.10/day. Not too shabby for my first decent investment into staking. I later expanded to Algorand (ALGO) and then to USD Neutrino (USDN), a stablecoin, on the decentralized Waves Exchange. The USDN has been the most profitable because the return on invest in INSANE. At the time of writing, the APY is 17.41%! I have also been staking Qtum (QTUM) on MyContainer. I only have about 40 coins staking on there, gaining about $0.02/day, but it is compounding so that amount is slowly growing everyday.
Crypto Interest Savings Account
I became curious about if i could earn extra Ethereum and Bitcoin and so the search began for new ways to earn. I came across the Nexo cryptocurrency app. I had read the reviews and everything seemed legit, so i hit the download button. I made my account and began looking at the interest rates on the multiple coins. Without and Nexo Tokens, you receive 4% APY on regular currencies (Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, etc.) and you earn 8% APY on stablecoins (Dai, USDC, USDT, etc). Now if you hold a percentage of your portfolios value in Nexo tokens, those interest rates get bumped up to 5% and 10% respectively. That's not too bad! Especially on Bitcoin and such because otherwise you wouldn't be earning anything on your coins!
As always, this is not investment advice, merely my experiences and opinions. Do your own thorough research before sending your coins to any platform you're not comfortable with.
