So I have been involved with cryptocurrency for over a year now, and i decided it's finally my time to build a mining rig! I know this isn't a "get rich quick" scheme. The profits (if any) are chaotic and not always guaranteed. For the large cost of acquiring the parts to build a rig, it is a scary thought to think that you won't even make the money to cover your investment; however, that's not the reason I want to start mining. I believe decentralization is the future of finance. I want to be a part of that decentralization. I love the idea of it, and any coins that I mine along the way are just a nice bonus.
To get started, I begin researching the parts I need. I decide which GPUs I want to use and I hop over to Ebay to see if I can find the parts at a lower cost (looking for higher quality parts on there, not just junk). I want this rig to eventually become a 6x GPU rig, so i buy a 6x GPU frame. I buy two Zotac gtx 1660tis, an MSI Z270-A Pro, a 1200W EVGA platinum power supply, my ram, etc. I ended up getting an Intel Celeron 3900 CPU (as an extremly powerful cpu is not necessary for a mining rig). Everything arrives, and I begin putting it all together. I get the PCIe cables all hooked up in their spots and i power it on. I had flashed a windows operating system onto a flash drive and plugged it in and I plugged in my keyboard and mouse.
Just when I think I'm home free.... "Active Partition Not Found.... Press Any Key". Not a big deal, I start trying to use my keyboard annnndddd nothing. The mouse isn't working either. The USB ports are getting power because i could charge things on them but they wouldn't register that there was a keyboard and mouse connected. I tried everything, resetting the CMOS, powering on and off, etc. But nothing worked. I couldn't get into the BIOS menu or anything. Fast forward a month and I still haven't figured it out. A whole month of my large invest just sitting and collecting dust. I don't know what to do.
If anyone has any suggestions on how to fix this, please let me know in the comments below. I'm at a complete loss.
