What initially attracted me to the Beach Bum Billionaires was it's name. Right off the get-go, I liked the name, and then I delved into their Discord and had to catch myself up. That's important, because prior to joining these guys, I had no idea about the speed at which some projects can move. Before joining them my experience with NFTs had basically been what could be considered pump-and-dumps. Either that, or I just got onto the hype of being able to flip NFTs.

That wasn't the case with Beach Bum Billionaires. In fact, it was quite the opposite, they stayed true to their name. The pace of the project is what kept me coming back, and that's real because everything moves so fast in this space. What I was basically describing beforehand was being a Paperhand, and whether or not these guys intended on doing it, the Beach Bum Billionaires created a Diamond Hand. This was a project that I could actually get behind.

It didn't have immediate monetary value, the art was goofy looking and there weren't any utilities, and so you're asking yourself, "Why am I even here?" Well, it felt like I was being let in on a chill thing, that was making progress, just not as fast as I wanted it to or expected to. This is important because you have to temper yourself and respond with reason. I think to a degree everyone's in this space for monetary reasons, and then social engineering reasons afterwards, and many other things even outside of that. Chilling with the Beach Bum Billionaires gave me time to assess my strategy, talk with like minded Bums and help contribute to their DAO.

I think their Mint price was .15 SOL? I snatched up soo many that I gave some to friends and family! It creates a way for me to communicate with them the endless possibilities and how they only have 1 NFT. So I guess in a weird way, I made some other Diamond Hands and didn't even know it, funny how that works. Anyway, back to the BBB. When I had gotten in, there wasn't a lot of hype or a lot of discussion of a future plan. There was a roadmap and a DAO had been formed, and other Metaverse properties had been purchased, and that's about it. Is it an investment pool? Is it a project in a metaverse? Where's staking?

These questions and more are what fueled me to ask the community and research more about NFTs, to broaden my understanding and figure out what this is all about. It felt like they weren't doing anything, but you have to remember - Beach Bums! #BumLife! My excitement to see progress collided with their lax approach and it humbled me. I was able to surf other projects, knowing I was all in on another, and to be honest, all of the other projects I looked at were basically rugpulls and scams. Seriously. So, I had to start talking in the chat to learn more. I was recommended a few other projects which we'll cover in other posts, but for now we'll stick to the main story as to why I'm HODL for BBB.

After surfing the interwebs and more, I washed back up on the shores of BBB and started making suggestions, like a sales bot, other utilities for the Bum token, staking. I think that's what everyone wanted, but being part of the discussion and seeing it take place over time was awesome! Long story short, it's journeys like these that make people stick around. People learn to reflect after they've had some time to simmer, and I think that's what's most important than money. Whether the BBB team realized it or not, by them staying true to their style and name, they got someone like me.

I learned to research things on BirdsEye and found out that I was one of the Top 10 Holders! I have to figure out what it means to be a "deflationary currency", that's what their BUM Token is. Right now, you're able to exchange BUM on DexLab. You're welcome to purchase some of the Bums on either MagicEden, DigitalEyes or through their onsite marketplace. In the future they plan on being able to exchange tokens for things like surfboards, jetskis, boats and more. The most awaited feature outside of staking, is breeding. The details haven't been discussed but will be covered in a future post. We're talking Beach Babes and Beach Kids! 

This truly is an underrated gem. The developer and team is also purchasing DeFi Land Seeds. Planets and more. I would highly recommend you look into it. They may not be a fast growing project, but they've got long term vision and that's important in a project these days. Their name is in alignment with their approach, there's a fair amount of transparency and who doesn't want to chill like a bum while making passive income?
