Maybe us humans'd be better off without much government...
For most of recorded civilization, government has been the driving force of the majority of the populace’s lives. We have for far too long simply bought into this system, allowing it to take hold of our minds and our beings. This should not be allowed to continue if we are to advance as a society and world in meaningful ways in the areas of freedom and equality. Stop for a second and let yourself imagine a world in which all people, disregarding prearranged, arbitrary social orders are allowed to the great liberties of free self-expression, self-ownership, self control, and generally the right to do as they please, so long as they do not affect anyone else in their rights to do the same. To achieve this sort of world, we must first eliminate the towering presence of government, reducing it to what people tend to call a “night-watchman state,” simply denoting a government whose only job it to protect all people’s right to do as they see fit, so long as they do not affect any other person’s right to do so, protecting one from theft, fraud, physical aggression, and property rights infringements. This system I propose is simple, yet so many make it seem complex. Why, I ask, should you, I, all of us, be subject to other, more arbitrarily powerful, group of people’s whims, as non-harm-doing adults? Once you glance past the normally given superficiality of it all, the lack of reasoning for the modern overpowering government becomes clear.
