After the recent and huge airdrops of Pyth, Jupiter and Jito, it can be said that the Solana Airdrop Season has officially opened. A few days ago I had already talked about this hypothesis in my article "What will be the next Airdrop Season??" and, to this day, we can say that there was something solid.
But what everyone is wondering now is: what will be the next protocol that will give tokens to its users?
To understand what the answer to this question is, we must first see what characteristics the DeFi protocols that have issued substantial airdrops have in common in the past. By observing its modus operandi, we can therefore hypothesize a model to be searched for among the existing dApps on the Solana blockchain.
The first feature that can be noticed is that the airdrops of the last few days have rewarded the early adopters, i.e. those people who used one or more of the functions of the protocol in question before the airdrop was announced. Fortunately for those who arrived late, however, several other distribution rounds have been announced for those who started making their own moves later. This seems trivial but it is instead a substantial difference with other blockchains where, for example, only one distribution round was envisaged and that's it.
Another feature is to offer a useful and possibly unique service. The token of a protocol that offers a service capable of filling a need within a DeFi ecosystem will take on a value proportional to the demand created. Therefore, a possible airdrop from that service will have important value and is worth trying to catch.
Now let's get to the meat of the article: are there tokenless protocols that will potentially issue an airdrop in the future? And how do you qualify?
Below I will list what I found, which are a number of Solana-based services that do not yet have a token. Some of these have already announced it while for others it is simple speculation. I recommend all investors do their own research before moving funds to any of the following protocols.
-
Kamino lend: This is a lending service where it is possible to lend or borrow liquidity. To become eligible for the airdrop you must therefore connect your wallet, deposit liquidity in the form of one or more tokens and borrow another. To maximize the possibilities it is also a good idea to give liquidity to one of the pools in the "Liquidity" menu.
-
MarginFi: Another lending protocol where you simply need to copy the strategy described above. In this case there is no need to use the other functions offered because they do not fall within the eligibility criteria. To maximize the airdrop possibilities here is the MarginFi referral link from which to start to carry out all the operations: https://www.mfi.gg/refer/628191ed-6387-41b6-b6bb-5380b317effd
-
Drift: This is a decentralized derivatives exchange. Here too there is the possibility of borrowing or lending liquidity so, once the strategy described for the previous two protocols has been repeated, it is a good idea to carry out some opening and closing positions on the Dex. Here too, here is the referral link where to start: https://app.drift.trade/ref/lucasgaio
-
BlazeStake: Blaze, on the other hand, is a liquid-staking service that offers the possibility of staking $SOL and receiving $bSOL in exchange, a token that allows you to vote on proposals and give liquidity to protocols like those seen above. Both actions are therefore to be considered useful for airdrop eligibility. Referral link to maximize your airdrop chances: https://stake.solblaze.org/?r=fb0105c67c696fcf
-
Portal: the case of Portal is different as it is a bridge, i.e. a Dapp that allows you to transfer tokens from one blockchain to another. In this case it is necessary to connect two wallets, one starting and one arriving. Then we need to select a token we own and transfer it from a blockchain to the Solana blockchain. To maximize the possibilities, a single transfer may not be enough and it is best to do it on different days.
Obviously there are many other DApps of this type but the ones I have listed are those with the highest Total Value Locked and therefore potentially the safest. Over time I should be able to introduce you to more, stay tuned.
Do you know of any other protocols that might issue an airdrop in the future? Write it in the comments.
