How to discover new tokens...in your wallet!

By Lucasgaio | The Microcoiner | 2 Aug 2021

A very simple thing to do (and hopefully also profitable) is to check if the address of your multicoin-wallet has received payments that you never noticed. Those who use wallets such as Trustst Wallet or Metamask, in fact, know well that if a token is not present in the wallet and has never been added manually, it may not appear among those we see. But how can you get paid for something without knowing anything about it? The possibilities are different:

  • If we have participated in some airdrops or campaigns that we have forgotten or think they have not been successful.
  • In recent times, many new crypto projects have been born, on blockchain such as BSC, Ethereum, Luna and Solana. Some of these have decided to credit several users with a small amount of their tokens.

So here is a simple guide to find the tokens hidden in your wallet using some fairly well-known sites. As an example I will use Trust Wallet, but the procedure is simple and it is the same for all non-custodial-Wallets.

So, let's start!

We will start with the Binance Smart Chain: you need to open Trust Wallet and select BSC.

Once this is done, the balance of the token you have and your transactions will open, you will have to select "Receive".

Now it is necessary to copy the code that is proposed to you in the clipboard of your PC or mobile phone.

The last operation involves pasting that code on the site https://bscscan.com/ which works as a scanner for the tkens you have in the wallet belonging to the BSC.

There are many blockchains and some of them don't have a single token, you can also do this for Ethereum, Polygon etc. Just select the starting coin from Trust Wallet and paste it into the specific scanner that you find below among the resources.

Once you have performed all these steps you will be shown a screen of this type, where you can see how many tokens you have in your possession and view their value one by one. As you can see, there were 11 tokens in my wallet.

To view them in the wallet as well, just copy the contract and select "manually add new token", paste the contract on the screen that opens and that's it. I have discovered many new coins like this.
