The truth is I can not actually remember.
Up until the middle of March of last year I was a bartender and had been one since around 2000. Naturally, I had grown accustomed to carrying cash and transacting in mostly cash as the bulk of the income I generated came from cash tips. Insert the pandemic and all non-essential businesses in cities across the United States were ordered to shutter their doors to the public for the foreseeable future. My industry - the hospitality industry, was especially impacted and consequently I lost my bartending job and as a result no longer had that large influx of paper money.
I have since been remotely freelancing and finally putting my digital design schooling to good use. For this I have been receiving compensation via the plethora of peer to peer payment options such as Pay Pal and Zelle. In turn, whenever I venture out into the economic system now, I use my phone or credit cards to transact.
A year later and bucks short - do I miss dirty, soiled, contaminated fiat? Absolutely not.
