It is a virtual currency issued by BitTorrent, a P2P file sharing service.

The project was launched following Tron's acquisition of BitTorrent in August 2018. This project is called Atlas.

BitTorrent uses Tron's technology to issue BTT tokens. BitTorrent issued BTT tokens using TRON technology, and gave incentives to users who uploaded files to receive BTT tokens as rewards and download them faster.

Since it uses TRON technology, the approval algorithm is PoS and no mining is required.

In addition to the file sharing service, the following three services are planned to be developed using BTT tokens.

Content distribution service: By paying BTT, content can be distributed to a large number of users.

Distributed storage service: By paying BTT, files can be stored in a distributed manner on a network.

Proxy service: By paying BTT, even mobile users connected via Wifi can download the content they want from the network without having to stay connected for long.

At the same time as introducing TRON technology, we are planning to provide APIs for third party developers to develop apps and a marketplace to offer apps.
