Hi guys,
I came across a startup today called Vengo AI. They're attempting to have digital media influencers and celebrities clone their personalities for money.
Their goal is to use the AI clone to answer the questions of all of a celebrity's fans on social media. This is supposed to save the celebrity time while increasing fan engagement. While reading about this on the company's website, https://www.vengoai.com/, I never actually came across how the interaction would be monetized. VengoAI just said that it would. I'm guessing ads have to be worked in somehow.
But for me personally, I would never do this as a celebrity. I think something like this would work for executing a will or providing instructions in my absence. And even then, it wouldn't be a clone of my exact personality but more of an assistant that would help a babysitter or housekeeper in my absence if I was a parent.
The company might also think of only creating AI personas for historical figures like Benjamin Franklin via any and all letters that he wrote. They could then rent the AI out for consultation to different entities like Deloitte or Bloomberg.
