Hi Everyone!!
Good Afternoon should I say as I'm writing this the afternoon of now the first day of 2023. Holy Jesus!! How is it 2023?! My mind is still stuck in 2020 to be completely honest with you. So the fact that it's officially three years later is just entirely mind blowing thought. Where has time gone to?
I'm now in California with my Mamma and Grandma Rosemary. On New Years Eve it was a crazy hectic day! Last minute packing, getting everything set up for my brother and his wife to take care of the pets, my Dad and I driving to the airport at 3AM on New Years Eve. I was running on literally 2 hours of sleep. I was so anxious I hadn't been sleeping. I was already exhausted. But boy I had no idea what I had waiting for me on the other side of my day.
Got to the airport made, got bags checked and got in line for TSA. Luckily we got there literally SECONDS before everyone else filled the line. So we spent about 45 minutes in line for TSA, which to be honest it could've been way worse.
Got through TSA, went to get some food because at that point I was starved lol. A gentleman at Qdoba made me a quesadilla with corn tortilla's. At first he thought I was crazy. But I explained I can't have wheat. I knew the tortillas were smaller I'd just get two. He said "Oh food allergy, Gotchu!" and he hooked me up. And that dude made some killer quesadillas!
After getting some food we had to walk all the way to the furthest end of the airport that's where we were to board our plane. I sat down ate my food and was just trying to keep myself calm as I waited to board the plane. Luckily Dad and I got a really good seat and had the whole row just the two of us. Our flight landed about 15 minutes early which was nice, I was dying to get out of there! Planes for me as a plus sized person are absolutely terribly uncomfortable! I even needed a seatbelt extender this time for the very first time. I was absolutely humiliated. I cried the first 20 minutes of the flight. I knew my medication had, had me put on weight but I didn't realize just how much.
When we landed we went to baggage claim to get our suitcase. I don't know why but it took an oddly long time for the bags to come through. We waited quite a long time for our bags.
My Grandma Georgia who was picking us up from the airport had over slept and didn't leave the house until she got the message that we had landed and was like Oh NO!!!! So we waited quite a while to be picked up. I was so tired. So in the car on the way to my Grandma Rosemary's I tried to take a bit of a nap the best I could. I wanted as much energy as I could gather to spend time with my Grandma. I wasn't able to sleep on the plane. I tried. But it wasn't working out.
Got to Grandma's house woke up my gorgeous, gorgeous Grandma, gave my Mamma the biggest hug and spent a lot of time with my family. Fed my Grandma her breakfast, helped Mamma with some chores, went to the grocery store and the bank with Mamma in my recently deceased Grandpa's truck which was really hard for me.
It was a really emotional day. It has been hard seeing my Grandma Rosemary so sick. It's been hard being back at my Grandparents house especially without my Papa Ricky here. Sleeping in his room with my Grandma. It's been quite emotional. It's hard but I know being here is the right thing for me.
Got home put away groceries and helped my parents make dinner. I helped Grandma eat her dinner and sat next to her keeping her company while we chatted and watched TV. Earlier we watched Absolute History on Youtube. We love watching documentaries. I thought she'd enjoy that channel.
Finally went to sleep late in the day. I was so exhausted my face looked dead. I was a zombie. Been up for days. Was so tired. But it was worth it.
Glad to be here with my family <3
