Hi Everyone!
Good Morning! Today's posts and posts for at least the next two weeks will be coming a bit later since I did end up deciding to make the switch back to days. Woke up at 3:30 AM this morning, so it's a process. But my Mamma called me yesterday, she isn't doing well and she really needs me. Since I'm going to be off work for at least the next two weeks that I know of I decided to make the plan to go see my Mamma and my Grandma Rosemary.
Since it'll be easier to be of help to my Mamma with me on a day schedule I'm needing to switch my schedule before I get down there so I can spend time with my family. I leave on New Years Eve. I'll be there until at least January 9th. It all depends on what ends up happening with my job.
I spent a lot of time yesterday talking to my family, being up during the day is so different. It's been a year since I've been up during the day. It's a very odd feeling. People are awake, you can make more noise, there's more to do, not to mention the sun is up. Which is a really weird feeling. When you haven't really seen the sun in about a year due to your work schedule it's a very weird feeling to be up when the sun is up, in some ways it kind of feels wrong.
Being up yesterday during the day I was actually able to get more things done. I was able to make a bit more noise, something about the sun as well just wakes your brain up. So I did some cleaning in my room yesterday. Trying to get things cleaned up a bit before I head down to California. My brother and his wife are kind of enough to watch our two pugs, my cat and my snake. So today is going to be a very busy day as well as I prepare to head down to California and pick up everything they need for the animals.
Lately I've been feeling quite lonely, it has been very depressing. But being up during the day yesterday I was able to talk to my Mamma, my Grandma Rosemary, I was able to spend time with my Dad and even got a few texts from my friends. Oh! And I spent a few hours texting back and forth with my cousin Kayla. She's one of the family members I have who isn't toxic. I always enjoy talking to her. Having her support is huge for me. I look up to her greatly.
I got to get out of the house and go for a walk which was really nice. The storm has settled down. It was a bit wild in the night, but by morning it had calmed down enough for me to be able to put on a light jacket and head out for a walk. The snow is gone now, which is a bit of a bummer. But it was still very cool crisp air, which is my favorite to walk in.
I got to spend a lot of time with my pugs yesterday, got all my puggy cuddles. Being up with everyone actually helped me feel a lot less depressed. I felt like I had people. It was a really amazing and comforting feeling.
I'm looking forward to spending some time with my Mamma and Grandma soon. They need me and I need them. I want to be there for them in this difficult time in our family.
I'm starting to feel like everything will be okay, I feel less alone in my world. I can feel the support I am lucky enough to have around me. I'm very grateful.
Any advice I have for today is to take advantage of the opportunities that arise to see someone you know you may not get another chance to see. Reach out to your friends and family, let them know you're always there. Because you never know how much time you have left with them.
Goal for the day is to reach out to a loved one just to check in.
