The Helium Network on Solana

The Helium Network on Solana

The Depin Sector is one that continues to bring crypto to new levels.

Projects, like DIMO

Projects like Hivemapper

and Projects like Helium

Which brings us to Helium Mobile. At the time the price of helium mobile tokens are about .002.

So there are MVNO's (mobile virtual network operators) and MNOs (mobile network operators)

The V for virtual includes companies like Boost Mobile, Which acquire their own customers, but don't have the infrastructure to supply service.

So they pay MNO's like TMOBILE to let their customers roam on their towers. It's a relationship. Now when it comes to HELIUM and HELIUM Mobile, they have created a new sector, called MHNO. This stands for (mobile hybrid network operator). So they , like Boost mobile, get their own customers, and establish their own relationships and let them roam on TMobile's Towers in order to provide solid nationwide coverage. But, The difference here is that Helium Mobile has their customer use community-built coverage from cellular and Wi-Fi hotspots on the Helium Network. There are about 8,000 CBRS radios and 4,000 Wifi radio live today and climbing fast.

So they way it works is when a Helium Mobile subscriber is in range of a Helium cellular or Wi-Fi coverage, they will automatically connect to that, which means, they don't have to pay T-Mobile a higher rate to supply that subscriber with service, but only pay a much cheaper rate in the form of rewards to the cellular or Wi-Fi hotspot operator (me and you). This creates and extra revenue stream for Helium's supporters who can also enjoy the benefits of having a cheaper Helium Mobile Plan. In addition, now if you have a dead spot, maybe somewhere near your house or school, or somewhere u travel often and notice a dead spot, you can actually do something about it by providing service in that area yourself. #MindBlown

Helium Data Credits

That brings us to the HNT coin and how it has a play in all of this. In order for data to be purchased, a DATA CREDIT (DC) is used.. And the only way for Data Credits to be created is by Burning HNT. There is a total supply of about 220 Million HNT Tokens. The more data is needed, the more HNT is burned, and if you know anything about tokenomics, that can be a very bullish scenario. Helium Mobile today has bout 42K paying subscribers in the US, and now through a deal with Telefonica , expanding to Mexico!

When i first got onto helium it was thru IOT (internet of things). Which is an infrastructure built through Wifi miners all across the globe. Now when i first got in, there were only 30k hotspots.. Max Peak was about 1 Million! They IOT side of Helium is still in development as far as use cases, but as i mentioned early, DIMO, is one of those use cases. Their mobile devices actually use the Helium IOT network to transmit the data that the cars create. So that in it self is pretty amazing.. The devices come prepaid for 3 years due the fees being so low. Now there are about 40k cars on the road using this device at the time of writing this, but imagine 1 million cars.. The data pull would be insane. Just as the same with Helium Mobile. Data is Key here.

Nova Labs - Telefonica

The Helium Team is working hard to get up as many radios as possible to prove their use case, which they are already doing. The Potential here is huge. The IOT network still exist and dev and creators are still trying to build on it. So that could turn big as well.

Telefonica is a TOP 10 MNO globally by subscriber count. They are actually bigger then AT&T..#MindBlown They have 21M+ subscribers in Mexico alone and another 250M outside of Mexico.

What's amazing about this partnership, is that the data and money will be flowing the opposite way. This is called data offload. Data offload from a Tier 1 MNO is the Holy Grail of Decentralized Wireless. Helium may be the first to capture it. This is the type of agreement that could make $HNT the global currency of data transfer.

In this partnership, Telefonica and Helium Mobile worked together to allow Telefonica subscribers to roam onto Helium Hotspots in Mexico with their existing Telefonica SIM cards.

So here are some key insights:

  • Any and all usage of the Helium network by Telefonica customers results in $HNT being burned at .50/Gig.
  • The team has spent time and engineering resources to develop a management system which facilitates Telefonica subscribers to access Helium Mobile Hotspots. This system can be reused by any MNO in the world. (So imagine the reach once anyone in the world can put up Helium Coverage.)
  • The Mexican Gov, IFT, was brought in to approve the use of Helium Mobile hotspots.
  • Telefonica plans to directly incentivize net new Helium Mobile coverage in areas where it needs it most . This showcases the power of Crypto-Economics.

The Helium network is one to look out for if your not involved. They have done ground breaking things, and plan to continue. I wont give any price predictions but know, HNT's ATH is about 52 bucks.. With the bull run right around the corner and HNT getting burned every single day, this should be in your radar!

If you would like to take advantage of their $20 Dollar Unlimited Phone plan.. You can download the "Helium Mobile" app. In most cases you don't even need a sim card, as they utilize eSims which is great for convenience, Or your can scan the QR code below with your phone!

You can use my code : 771FQKD  and you will receive $30 Dollars off your first bill!!

Or Scan the barcode and create and account, put in your details, pick or port over your number and your good go!
