With the rise of artificial intelligence and the ever increasing improvements to robots, the end of capitalism is nigh. The reason for this is simple, without the need for human labor, there won't be any (or at least very many) jobs for the normal individual to do. The middle class will die with this as well as there will be those that live off of the government and those who own the companies. So only the upper and lower classes will remain.
This seems to be a welcomed reality for the majority because it is touted as a sort of utopia. A society where the average individual is free to travel and do art when they would have had to be at work instead. Likely, this utopia will exist in practice only temporarily, if it exists at all. The reason that this type of society will most likely not exist for very long is because people have a tendency to get bored and riot. Something will happen that will cause an uproar, and without people working, nothing will keep people from growing violent.
In a world where AI and robots have taken most of the jobs, capitalism will be give way to another financial ideology, most likely socialism. Taking money from the insanely large corporations and giving it to the people who were forcibly displaced from their jobs. People will be given a monthly allowance from the government and possibly even housing. This to try and appease the 70-80% of people that can't find work. Capitalism will be shown the front door as not enough people will be able to participate in the market.
With new innovation, new ideologies will most likely replace old ones. I don't know where this will lead us as a society, but it's clear that it won't be a very freedom rich society. More than likely, this future society will be more structured and only allow certain beliefs. The Chinese social credit score will more than likely be used at some point as a controlling mechanism on the hundreds of millions of people if not billions left without work.
An intertwining of reality and the digital world will also help to control the masses. The metaverse of the future will be where many people will escape to instead of traveling in real life. There might be capitalism in the Metaverse, but that might depend on which metaverse you are playing. People in this new world without capitalism due to roboticization and artificial intelligence will not have a purpose, but will more than likely fall to either religion or philosophy to find meaning.
Providing for a family will be a thing of the past, as the government will do that for you. More than likely the surveillance state will be at an all time high because of this. The government will want to know what you are doing with their money. They will be able to track all of your purchases and AI will make sure that you don't do anything illegal or against the philosophy of the regime in power.
This will be our future if we keep going the way we are currently going. And I'm sure we will one day end up here, how long will it be? Perhaps, 5 years. Or maybe 50 years. But I am sure that this will one day be our future.
