Cryptocurrency and AI are both cutting edge technologies and with both of these technologies, there seems to be massive change coming around the globe. But the question is, can both crypto and artificial intelligence exist at the same time?
Cryptocurrency is the future of money because of it's decentralization and relatively quick transfer of money. Currently there are still some upgrades that cryptocurrency will most likely need to make in order to become mainstream. These upgrades will take time, but artificial intelligence could make these upgrades happen much faster than we currently expect. AI could write a lot of the code that programmers might take weeks or months to write, in seconds or minutes.
AI could massively help cryptocurrency if it is implemented in a way that helps to secure the blockchain and cryptocurrencies themselves. Gas fees and transfer speeds wouldn't be a problem with the possible benefits from AI. But there's also the potential collapse of crypto because of AI too. If the wrong people get a hold of a powerful enough AI, there could be a security breach in cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin. And if Bitcoin is taken down, then crypto as a whole would take a heavy blow.
Only time will tell what will happen, but I sincerely hope that AI will be used to benefit crypto because if it doesn't than I'm worried what will happen to any payment done by digital means. Buying clothes or computer parts online might be at risk even if it is supposed to be on a secure site. Using a credit card or debit card would also be easily hacked by AI. At that point, cash and coins would be the only safe way to make a purchase.
I hope that AI is used to make the world a better place and not the other way around. But that's a question for when AI get's strong enough to become a threat, and who knows when that might actually happen. AI is here and it is improving every day so we will just have to see what happens.
