Ethereum is going through one of its worst seasons, from which it cannot leave until the arrival of Istanbul. The crypto community has long awaited this update and now seems to be the last hope for the cryptocurrency.

Few weeks back, the second-largest crypto asset in the world lost almost 20% of its value. That is why most members of the crypto ecosystem consider that Ethereum urgently needs the arrival of its update. Or, in other words, that Istanbul is the hope for the recovery of the cryptocurrency.

The imminent arrival of Istanbul

The good news for the digital currency is that the arrival of the update will be soon. As scheduled, Istanbul will occur around December 6, within two weeks.

Joseph Lubin, the founder of ConsenSys, published an update detailing the changes that will take place on the network. His tweet was, "The #Ethereum Istanbul network upgrade is just around the corner! With six new EIPs being implemented, this fork will align opcode computational costs, make layer 2 solutions using SNARKs and STARKs more performant, enable zCash interoperability, and more."

According to this information, six proposals for improvement of Ethereum will be implemented with the update. These will be aimed at improving security, interoperability, and reducing network costs.
