I'd been planning for a month now to finally make my first official Bitcoin purchase and this afternoon, I completed my first successful purchase / transaction using my bank issued credit card for the grand total amount of $100 CND. It's not much but it's a start. I got less after paying network and processing fees so I really got $92.21 worth of Bitcoin.
I used MoonPay to complete the transaction and had the Bitcoin sent to my private wallet address and after I received the confirmation email from Moonpay that the transaction was completed, opened my Ledger app, waited a few seconds for the app to refresh and to my relief, the 0.00279 Bitcoin had arrived safely and are now in my possession (so to speak).
I already had about 5,000 Satoshis I'd earned through CryptoTab and continue to use them to earn supplemental Satoshis. Now that I can purchase and add Bitcoin to my wallet anytime, I'll be doing this on a monthly basis and cost averaging. Sometimes it'll cost more and other times, it'll cost less.
Right now, it's costs more than $30,000 CND for just one Bitcoin. That's way out of my pay scale and unfortunately, I missed out on getting whole Bitcoins but one thing I am certain of is that it's not too late to get my hands on Bitcoin Satoshis. Just one Bitcoin contains 100 million of these micro-bits.
So for just $92 CND, I got my hands on 279,000 'bits'. Hypothetically speaking, these could one day be on par with the dollar. I'm not going to miss out on something like that, I mean, just in case. The dollar would be much weaker in such a scenario while Bitcoin would be through the roof.
Anyways, I thought I'd share with friends at PublishOx that I'm officially a Bitcoin HODLer!
