For a while now, I've been aware of Google 'spying' on me. Their easiest method is through my cell phone's microphone and eavesdropping on my conversations, picking up certain keywords that then transform into ads in Google search, Youtube and just about every website out there that uses Google's AdSense advertising campaigns. So much so that there have been times I thought I was having premonitions but only to figure out I was targeted for these ad campaigns. We're told it's for a 'better experience' as we peruse the internet.
I'm not buying it anymore.
If you have an account with Google, I have a surprise for you. They know just about everything there is to know about you. They know where you've traveled, when and for how long because of their GPS capabilities. They know which hotel and restaurant you visited, which store you bought your sneakers from and just about every place you've been to. Heck, if you're cheating on your wife / husband, Google probably knows, that is, if you took your Android cell phone with you.
Then, there's GMail. I've been using GMail since soon after its inception, when it was invitation only, remember that? I was a great email client at the time. You could store all your emails in one place and just let them pile up because Google gave each user so much storage capacity and it was all free... or so I / we thought!
After so many years of using Google's GMail, my account had acquired tens of thousands of emails, about 80,000 to be exact. Most were just junk mail. Many were personal messages from family and friends. Many were bills for gas, water, electricity. If I had an account with Norton Anti-Virus, Google knew. In fact, Google is aware of all my third party accounts. They know how much natural gas I've used up and how much I've paid for it. They know how much I've spent renting my hot water heater. If I placed an order for something online and my gmail account was used, then I gave Google permission to see what I've purchased.
Not anymore!
I want my privacy back and have already taken measures to protect my privacy. The first step was to open an account with ProtonMail which provides encryption for all your emails. I've begun moving important contacts to ProtonMail while closing accounts that just sent me junk mail. I've deleted some 50,000 emails and still have some 30,000 to go in my old GMail account. I'd rather delete them myself than to trust Google to do so.
This pushback on Google goes even further. Now, most of the time, when I need to do a quick local run, I leave the cell phone at home. All too often, after visiting someplace, like Costco for example, I'll get a text message from Google asking, 'How was your trip to Costco?'. The answer to that is, 'None of your effing business'. The time is fast approaching when we'll need to ditch our cell phones. They are nothing more than surveillance devices. The best option is a land line or a satellite phone. Satellite phones cannot be tracked like cell phones which can be picked up by multiple communication towers.
Google and other internet corporations have amassed detailed profiles on every user. They know if you're black, white, gay, straight, alcoholic, lazy, athletic, poor, rich, which school you attended and if you graduated (or not), They know when you got married and to whom. They know who your entire family is. They know how much you spend on groceries and other necessities. They know how much you owe. They know when you're going on vacation. They know everything about you.
The first thing you should tell yourself is, 'It's not your fault'. We've all been led down this path. In exchange for their 'free' services, they get to know every little detail about us. Does that sound like a good deal to you?I can tell you that if it were 1939, the Nazis would have drooled over such a technology.
There must come a time though, when we must take a stand against big tech encroachment. I think that time is fast approaching. It may have already started. We have the power to turn off the 'Deep State' by simply turning those gadgets off or use a competing technology against them. In my case, it's ProtonMail and eventually, a satellite phone. I use search engines other than Google's biased search engine.
There's enough valid information out there proving that big tech is robbing us of our privacy and lobbying big government to favor them over us. The simple solution is to turn it off, minimize usage or to not buy their products at all. Soon, there will be nothing going to my GMail account. While I still watch some Youtube videos, I now spend half that time watching videos on Rumble and BitChute. Their incessant constant ad interruptions are one hell of a nuisance I prefer to avoid. Because of their over-advertising, I now spend half the time on Youtube compared to say, a year ago.
Their loss, not mine! Have you got any bad experience with big tech encroachment? Please share them in the comments section below, thanks.
Peace and love to everyone.
