So, if you haven't been sleeping under a rock, you probably have heard that the market is melting. If you have been investing, you also probably felt the pain of the crash. I definitely did and it hurt.   There is nothing I can do about the current state of the market except to make my next move. What I intend to do will be greatly based on if I think the market has hit the bottom. Was the fall so great that there is only one way to go?   If the stock market is any indication, the outlook does not look good. I realize that the crypto market and the stock market do not necessarily coincide. However, if the stock market takes a big enough hit, it can definitely drag down the crypto market (however, this is not true the other way around).     First, the Cboe Volatility Index is not in a good spot. This index looks at the expected volatility of the S&P 500 for the next 30 days. Known as the "fear index," the VIX gives an indication of how investors are feeling about the near future. While this number has raised about 13% today, it is still below the number it usually hovers at during a true bottom.   The Dow is no better, as it hit a new low for the year. The Dow Theory of the Market indicates tgat there is worse to come. Lower highs and lower lows indicates that the low has not bottomed out yet. Also, the volume of trades is relatively low, indicating that investors are holding to see the market go even lower.   Again, I am not arguing that the stock market is a clear indicator of how the crypto market will perform. However, when there are such huges movements in the stock market, it is inevitable that it impacts the crypto market. Perhaps, one day the crypto market will be strong enough to be completely independent, but I'm not planning for that any time soon.
