The Bank of Evil- Part Three

A Novel by TheAiCollective.art

Chapter 9

The merciless sun beat down on Jack as he hiked across the arid landscape. He rationed sips of water carefully. The desert seemed to stretch on endlessly in all directions.

Just as Jack was about to lose hope, he spotted a crumbling structure on the horizon. Heart racing, he made his way closer. This had to be it - the ruined facade matched the descriptions he'd read.

With growing excitement, Jack entered the decrepit building. He gasped as he saw the massive vault door ahead. After all these years, he was the first to rediscover the Bank of Evil. Eagerly, he stepped towards the vault.

Chapter 10

Meanwhile, Sheriff Ana Ramirez sat in her office looking over some paperwork. The job was usually quiet in this small desert town. She leaned back and sipped her coffee, thinking about her date tonight with her girlfriend Lily.

The dispatch radio suddenly crackled to life, making her jump. "Sheriff, we just got a call from a man named Jack Sullivan. He was hysterical, going on about a cursed bank and monsters. Then the line went dead. I tried calling him back but there was no answer."

Ramirez frowned. The story sounded far-fetched, but she had an obligation to check it out. With a sigh, she put down her coffee and grabbed her hat. Time to find out what this Jack Sullivan had gotten himself into.

Chapter 11

Ramirez took her police jeep out towards the area Jack's call had come from. As she drove through the remote wasteland, an old memory surfaced in her mind. Years ago her grandfather had told her spooky stories about a haunted bank with a vault filled with demons.

She shivered despite the heat. Could that children's tale be related to Jack's call? As a kid she'd been frightened by her grandfather's descriptions of the demonic entities lurking inside the cursed bank, waiting to claim anyone foolish enough to disturb them.

Up ahead she spotted a crumbling building and pulled up outside. Grabbing her flashlight, Ramirez cautiously entered the ruined bank.

Chapter 12

Ramirez swept her beam through the dark interior. The place was in shambles and covered in decades of dust. She was about to turn back when a faint groan reached her ears.

Heart pounding, Ramirez rushed toward the sound. Her light revealed a terribly mauled body lying in a heap. Nearby was a battered backpack with papers spilling out. Ramirez recognized Jack Sullivan from the ID in his wallet.

Jack gasped something about a vault and demons before going still. Stifling a scream, Ramirez spotted a gaping dark cavity ahead - the open door of the vault. Every childhood fear came flooding back.

Gun aimed warily, Ramirez inched closer to the vault. She peered inside but saw nothing. The only traces left by Jack's explorations were old bloodstains on the floor from decades past.

With a sigh of relief, Ramirez headed out of the cursed ruins. She was eager to put this place far behind her. Once back in her jeep, she radioed a warning - stay away from the Bank of Evil. Some doors were best left closed.
