Israel May Have Coronavirus Vaccine

Israel may have a vaccine for the coronavirus. Israeli research center to announce it developed coronavirus vaccine, sources say

The article says "according to medical sources," as the basis for its report. It doesn't name anyone.

But there is a quote from the Israeli Defense Minister who was asked about it, and he basically denied everything, and said there was no breakthrough.

The reality is one of two possibilities:

1) The story leaked from "medical sources" who are on the inside working on this, or otherwise in a position to know, and it's legit. The government of Israel knows it's going to come under huge world wide pressure to get it released ASAP, and faster than its preferred testing procedures for safety would allow.

And it has to decide what it will do regarding money. What they have on their hands is worth hundreds of billions, but there is also potential for huge worldwide backlash if the government of Israel looks like they are trying to profit from the vaccine, or trying to profit “too much,” whatever that might mean.

2) The “medical sources" don't really know what they are talking about, or are lying or exaggerating.

Since the publication ran the article, with the headline they chose, and included the complete denial by the defense minister, I'm more inclined to believe #1.

If the credible and named source within the Israeli government completely denies what their “medical sources” are saying, then if their sources were not in a really good position to know, the logical decision would be to either not run the story at all, or to run it with a headline and tone of basically reporting on a rumor.

Major caveat here: I am not familiar with this publication or its reputation for journalistic integrity.

But if I had to guess, my guess would be that within the next few weeks or months, Israel will announce that it has a vaccine, which has already undergone secret testing, and is ready for release to the world!

Or at least that’s what I’m hoping, anyway.
