Parlay betting will be extremely hard and difficult during the world cup. Not sure how I can incorporate parlay betting with the world cup. Probably I will play one or two combos per matchday, so not calender day. I don't like if a parlay bet runs over more than 1 day but otherwise I would have max 4 games to choose from.

Rag to riches!

But I will also try something different. I always have dreamed about completing a rag to riches betting scheme. And I did try many times before. Still searching for some glory!
The concept behind this is pretty easy, you do start with a small bet and the payout rolls over to the next bet until your desired goal has been reached or, of course, you ran into a loosing bet. But hey with only a start of for instance €1 or $1 if you like, you can start over again.

So if your first bet had a ante of €1 and odds of 1.25 and the bet settled as a winner. The next bet will have an ante of €1.25, hence the payout of the previous bet!

World cup Rag to Riches

The entire world cup consists of 63 games. My idea is to use each game which will be played in the World Cup Rags to Riches challenge. The only exception is when 2 games are played at the same moment. In that case I will have to pick one.

So there will be around 50 betting moments. Good enough to fail or succeed!
My starting bet will be $1.
So let's dig into some numbers. Always do like number crunching.
Let's say 50 winning bets in a row with average odds of 1.1 and a starting bet of $1. After 50 successful bets you will have $117. While that amount isn't something to get thrilled about, you did start with only one dollar!

But it can get whopping!

But if you would increase the odds, the potential profit does get into whopping numbers. Believe it or not, a real snowball effect takes place!
Let’s assume you are a dare devil and go for odds of 1.25 (still 80% of winning the bet), the end number would be $70K!!!!
Odds of 1.32 will make you a millionaire! Crazy numbers aren’t they! Chances of achieving this are against you with only 0.00008%.

also I doubt it that you will find a bookie which will allow you to place such bets, for sure not the regular land based bookies. Crypto bookies do allow in general much bigger antes. Not that I am looking for one which would allow me to place such big bets. The last wager with the odds of 1.26 would be €1.67M. And let’s be honest you would be crazy if you would place a bet this big! I for sure wouldn’t do this. I would have paid off my mortgage. Also pretty close to impossible to win 63 bets in a row. I am not saying that it is impossible, but let’s find out! The proof is with eating the pudding.

Target setting

So, let’s start with setting a target. My target would be €500. Turning €1 into €500 is good enough for me to brag about it to my friends.
With odds of 1.2 I would need 35 bets to reach that target. Odds of 1.25 will bring this down to only 28 bets 😊 and odds of 1.3 only 24. But even 34 wins in a row with odds of 1.2, the possibility is only 0.00177%. So not a lot. But I won't let my hopes vaporize before I do give it a real chance.
In contrast of the ante, the odds aren’t fixed. Probably one bet will have odds of 1.4, while other barely will touch 1.2. When talking about odds above, I am more referring to the average odds of all bets to simplify things. I do know that if we are going to use real mathematics it will get more complex. Because a 1.4 odds will have much more meaning further on in a winning streak than at the start.

All betting types are allowed. Even betbuilders or combos, as long as the payout of the bet rolls over as ante to the next one. No problems with banking here and there some money, to increase your attempts. You even can use Asian handicap bets, where there is a possibility to get your money back when the bet is pushed. Maybe allowing you to take some more risk and increase the odds this way.

World cup betting is a different cup of tea!

But World cup betting is tough! Tougher than betting on a specific league. There are so many stats available for league betting with so much history. You do see the teams play week after week and sometimes even twice in a week. You do get a notice of form, missing players, tactics which work against a team and so on.

Tactics do differ in all parts of the world which makes it hard to predict how a team reacts to a more physical opponent as they are used to. Or against a team with decent enough player, but building a real wall in front of the goal. So there isn't soo much information at hand to base the bets on!

So, I doubt it that I will reach 10 winning bets in a row! But I will try!

Anybody in for a challenge and see who does reach their target or gets the longest winning streak?

Feel free to participate! But be honest and so some record keeping. With 4 games per day, it isn’t necessary to publish the bets in advance.
I am very curious how many of us, would reach a winning streak of 10 bets, which decent odds. Let’s say above 1.15.
