As many people in the US are aware a massive cold front has been moving across the country and it has been slowly but surely working its way across Texas. People from Texas, like myself, often poke fun at our weather (in the summers we can get up to 105 degrees Fahrenheit with 95% humidity) because otherwise, it's just miserable. I mean when you have asphalt beginning to reliquify that's kind of an issue! Most people I know adapt to the heat and in return, we struggle with the cold hence the reason why we joke that under 60 degrees we begin to freeze. If now people up north are used to the cold over the heat.
This cold front really announced its arrival in full force this morning as it was a whopping 28 degrees Fahrenheit! It was so bad I actually had ice on my windshield this morning which is something I am really not used to! This weather is over 20 degrees colder than normal for us this time of year and man does it show. Everyone was all bundled up because of the brutal up but by the time I left work at 2:10 today amazingly, it was 64 degrees out. The temperature had gone up almost 40 degrees in the meantime.
Tomorrow will bring another round of rain since last Friday so after about a month without it's been raining like crazy recently. The Brazos River which runs by my house was at low levels not seen since the big drought we had in the 2010-2012 timeframe. After this system moves through the weather forecast shows us not getting into the 60's even for the next week. Brutal weather for Texans for sure and an extremely quick change.
