For as long as I can remember whenever I visited South Padre Island I would visit Sea Turtle Inc. With the crazy weather Texas is going through right now even down near Brownsville cold weather is wreaking havoc on the power grid. Sea Turtle Inc does amazing work rehabbing turtles to return them to the ocean and if they cannot return finding a good permanent home for them. The post I saw today though hurt deep down.
These rare and endangered animals the residents who are unable to return to the ocean are now in dire need. The weather is temp is low and the tanks are without heat now. These defenseless animals are stuck and at no fault of their own.
The resident turtles got a second chance after being saved by Sea Turtle Inc. I have grown up watching these turtles grow with me and nothing hurts more than being unable to help. Texas has never had weather like this. Not on record and it’s just an extremely sad thing to see.
