No matter what was going on in my personal life my dog Rusty was always there for me. When my parents first got him for me I was in the middle of recovering from my latest major concussion in 2012. From the time of my memory coming back until this morning he was there for me always.
While in college or away in New York for neurosurgeons my baby boy was one FaceTime call away. When his health first cratered in December of 2019 I was scared. By January of 2020 we were told he would only have a week or two left. Two days after being told this I had to return to College Station for my last semester of college.
My baby beat the odds and continued to. He and I even got to take some graduation photos in our front yard together. While he was never 100% after his health scare he was still down to rough house with his brother Mardi and possibly sneak some food off of the counter!
I am beyond hurt and crushed with this loss. My biggest support, the person I talked to about everything is now gone. Luckily I have work tomorrow to keep my mind busy. Rusty got me so far this far and he would not want me to fail now. To honor him and everything he taught me.
Rusty baby I love you so much and miss you greatly I promise to keep going and to make you proud.
