After leaving my friends, family, and the state I had ever known at the end of last year I am finally able to get time off and head back home. When I first moved to DC I had not yet secured a job however I had a ton of opportunities lined up. January 6th effectively iced almost all of them causing me to have quiet a bit of stress. Luckily all of that has been at least temporarily been taken care of so I get to go home and see my parents, my pups, and two of my best friends marry each other!
It has been rough. It’s hard to network and make friends when the Capitol is locked down. Makes it a struggle to really branch out and learn the lay of the land. The friends I’ve been able to meet are just a couple of people from the office I work in and I would really love to make more.
It will be great to decompress and just take in the home vibes. I cannot wait to cuddle my fluffy golden retriever baby! I keep thinking.... Just hold on we’re going home!
