Edinburgh's beloved Sean Connery, who was announced to have died at 90 years old earlier today.

Born in Fountainbridge Edinburgh, Scotland in 1930is well known for being the first to play the iconic role of James Bond. For Edinburghians Sean is the only bond :) 

Sean was always proud of his Scottish roots. Speaking today, First Minister of Scotland Nicola Sturgeon said:
Sean was born into a working-class Edinburgh family and through talent and sheer hard work, became a film icon and one of the world's most accomplished actors.
Sean was a global legend but, first and foremost, he was a patriotic and proud Scot. His towering presence at the opening of the Scottish Parliament was a sign of his dedication to his country.

Sure she mean the Independent Scotland!
