Microsoft said many things against Linux in the PAST.
Everybody knows one of the co-founders of Microsoft and the first CEO whose name I don't want to mention here. Most of the people surfing the Internet quote his name with deep respect. I think he is a money-puller by any means, good or bad.
The so-called philanthropic man, who is presently into the pharma business, tried enough to stop Linux and open-source software by permitting his successor CEO of Microsoft continually call Linux "cancer" for many long years!
But, all those are PAST news. Would those two guys now eat their uttered bad words towards Linux, equivalent to swallowing their spits or consuming their stools?
Because, the current Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella, claims "Microsoft Loves Linux" because Microsoft now runs its largest revenue-earning business Azure Cloud on Linux.

It would be interesting to find out what makes Microsoft turn 180 degrees to get interested in open-source software and Linux.

The release of the open-source Linux kernel and innumerable GNU/Linux operating systems penetrated the entire web infrastructure.

The development of codes under the open-source software license called GPL (general public license) has already impacted the computing world.
Microsoft probably discovered a thick thread of threats from Linux and the open-source community of volunteers.
Microsoft quickly became the platinum sponsor of The Linux Foundation.
Microsoft found no other way other than pouring money to acquire the most popularly used open-source software platform called GitHub.
Microsoft acquired GitHub and tried to grab all codes developed by open-source global volunteers for years!
Microsoft faces a legal suit for stealing open-source software.
GitHub is a well-recognized platform by the open-source community where global computer programming code developers put their open-source software projects.

The program codes are open-source means anybody can use the codes.

To use open-source software,e one must abide by the open-source software license, such as GPL and other modified GPLs.

One example of an open-source software project is OpenAI, an open-source AI project that can do scary things to impress people.
Microsoft owning GitHub doesn't authorize them to blatantly copy codes from GitHub and violate the open-source copyright.

But that is what has probably happened, and Microsoft faces a legal suit for software piracy!
