I keep hearing people say Bitcoin is old news. That it had its run. But honestly, I don't buy it. Here's why I think Bitcoin still matters in 2026.

First, it's the only crypto that everyone knows. My mom knows Bitcoin. My friends who never touched crypto know Bitcoin. That kind of recognition takes years to build. No other coin has it.

Second, it's simple. You don't need to understand smart contracts or staking or whatever. You just send and receive. That's it. Simple things survive.

Third, it's been through everything. Crashes, bans, people saying it's dead. And it's still here. That says something. It's not just hype. It's real.

I'm not saying other coins are useless. Some of them are great. But Bitcoin is still the safest bet for anyone new. It's the gateway. And I don't see that changing anytime soon.
