And two weeks have come and gone and it's hard to believe but I've been playing Splinterlands for almost four months now!!
First things first, feel free to just go to their website directly but if Splinterlands interests you I'd be very happy if you joined up with my referral link:

From daily quests I didn't get any exceptional rewards this time around (and I even purchased a couple of Quest potions for the five extra loot chests on a couple of days - courtesy of a couple of people who used my link, Thanks so much!!) I did get some cards but they were all duplicates with the best one being an Efreet Eldar which is a fun fire card due to the Last Stand effect which can be a game changer!
At the end of the season I was still at Bronze I (just cant afford really to get enough power to bump up to Silver!) - my current limit - with a reward of nine loot chests
- 2 x Legendary Potions
- 2 x Alchemy Potions
- Temple Priest - New Rare Life Card
- 71 Dec
Happy to get a new card, sad I didn't get anything awesome. The Temple Priest may be a useful addition to the Life splinter but seeing it's value on the store at 58 DEC it's clearly not the most desired drop!
Season Seven summary:
- No change in rank
- Card Power down to 6,925 (from 8450 - more on this below)
Rental System - a rant
Don't get me wrong, I love the ability to rent cards from others. But one aspect I am really hating is that Rentals can be cancelled, by either party, at any time regardless of the original time a card was rented for.
I believe from a market fairness aspect this is horrible. It gives unlimited power to the Owner of the card to watch the market an any time the market goes up cancel the contract and relist at a new price. There needs to be either a penalty to doing so of have it so that only the Renter can cancel the contract.
I have rented a few "good" cards over the last period (i.e. Kron, Chain Golem, Wood Nymph) at a specific price for periods of 50, 100 and 365 days for example. Of course as the whole market has moved up the renters have promptly cancelled and I'd have had to redo the rentals at prices that were in some cases 20-30 times more than the original. I believe if the rental contracts can be cancelled with no penalty the rental market can only go up and give more and more power to card owners vs renters and eventually it will become too expensive to rent and this will become another barrier to entry to Splinterlands for new players with less money to spend.
How I'd try to fix it was either to not allow it - "a contract is a contract is a contract" or I'd have a penalty of some sort should either party renege on the contract (maybe the renter only gets back X% of their escrowed funds if they don't honor the contract and conversely the owner needs to pay x% back to the renter should they cancel).
Anyway - I don't expect anything to change - this is just a facet of the system that I feel doesn't work quite the way I think it should!
AirDrops
The SPS airdrops are awesome - it's great to get some value from the collection etc I have even as a pretty much free player only. I do wish I'd been in the game longer but I guess it is like most things in the Crypto space - its awesome if you're in early, much worse if you get in late!
And that about sums up where I'm at!
Hope you found the post interesting and that if you're interested in Splinterlands you'll give it a go (hopefully with my referral code!)
