BTC Double Reward Week
The latest development in RollerCoin is the introduction of Double Reward Weeks. RollerCoin have announced that they'll be doing this every now and then and the first one is a DOUBLE BTC REWARD WEEK. Double your BTC earnings. If your working BTC you'll be very happy and you may consider changing some power to BTC for a while.
I did a quick test on my own account Based on my own account and based on the exchange rate for BTC to RLT (0.00002545 BTC = 1.00 RLT) if you're still building your account you're probably better off just doing RLT. However if you're working on withdrawing from RollerCoin then the double reward week is great for you!
Enjoy it!
Updates/Fixes etc.
With the new Era there have been a few teething problems and RollerCoin have put out a note saying what's been going on.
- The broken "Recharge" button got fixed so don't forget to charge your miners;
- ETH withdrawals got restarted - good if you're working Eth;
- Some issues around the block calculation for some users got fixed;
- Issues around avatar creation on signup got fixed;
- Delayed withdrawals got compensated/released.
They also noted that some people were having issues with Referrals so they have noted that:
- Referrals only work with NEW account;
- Referrals must use the correct link and a common issue they have had is that some links sent via messenger type apps/programmes may break the link and thus the referral may not count. (I suggest using a cut and paste rather than click on the link if you're guiding people through the process to get a referral).
Event Pass - The good, The bad, The Ugly
The event pass has definitely been an interesting development in RollerCoin. After a week of the pass here are some thoughts I have had.
The Good
Some free things (i.e. bonus power, racks, some RLT) are all great. All nice things to work towards. The games target also gives an incentive to keep logging in and playing the games which is good for RollerCoin and obviously good for your account. Overall I think the idea and the basis behind the Event Pass system is good.
The limited store is great too - gives a great opportunity to get various items at greatly reduced costs and also a chance at getting old event miners. Definitely a good thing if you've got the RLT!
The Bad
I really don't like how they have tied the XP gained to getting at least 1 referral every week. While I understand it may be quite good from a business perspective from a user perspective I think it puts undue pressure on users to "shill" the game to get that referral. Perhaps still having the XP from referrals but not tying the completion bonus to that task would be better.
The Ugly
I may be wrong but as I understand it from the material floating around and the details available from RollerCoin and in-game the exclusive miners are not available to free players.
So every event pass purchaser will get 1,007 TH/s (just over 1 PH/s) of permanent mining power if they complete the event. That doesn't include the bonus timed power or the bonus % from miners with bonuses they'd get from the miners if they didn't have them previously).
This means that every Event Pass purchaser's account will add to the mining pools at a massive rate and push down returns for all those that cannot get the event pass for whatever reason (no money to put in, account is too small to earn the RLT for it internally etc.).
This will compound every event reducing rewards to newer players which I think will be a problem as it will feel like the barrier to entry (value) from RollerCoin will keep on getting higher - the bigger accounts will keep getting bigger and push newbies out till eventually no-one will want to start a new account or if they do will leave quickly. Not a good thing for any platform.
Hopefully I'm not too pessimistic and who knows maybe changes will come and the next Season will be more newbie friendly?
My Take
Overall - I still love the RollerCoin concept and platform and hope it continues to grow, develop, be maintained and eventually that I get to a point where I feel I've built it enough to start getting some withdrawals.
I love the idea of building something up to get something out that's fun - it's really just taken the place of other games I'd make micropayments in so I really lose nothing by riding the RollerCoin train (in fact I'm probably profiting as I don't make the micropayments I was elsewhere!).
I am however a bit frustrated that RollerCoin have made some decisions that exclude newer players/non-whales (primarily the Event Miners). I feel that if they had made some of the event miners available to the Free Pass (maybe just not the best one, even 2/4 of the event miners) would have been fine (not ideal but acceptable).
Lets hope they mix things up and maybe tweak the Event Pass system next time!
