On a lazy day in March I decided to look into cryptocurrency and in particular a fun way to play some games, kill some time and hopefully get ahead.
I stumbled upon a site called Rollercoin.

First things first - Feel free to just go to their website but this interests you I'd be very happy if you joined up with my referral link (you'll get 1000 satoshi to give you a start if you do!)

- more about the referral program later
In their own words:
"RollerCoin is an online, virtual bitcoin mining game where you compete against your friends to mine bitcoins. It takes the concept of bitcoin mining, but instead of the sophisticated Blockchain and processing algorithms, RollerCoin lets you test your skills, complete missions, undertake tasks, and play games to build your mining empire."
So where to start:
1 - Obviously set up an account with them - this is relatively painless, you basically just need an email.
2 - Play the games
- Need to know - the games are easy little retro games. I get the best return from Coin-Flip. As there is a "cool-down" time after each game I also play Dr Hamster, and Coin-match as I find them quick and easy.
3 - What do the games give you?
- The games give you "Mining Power". The more mining power you have the better obviously. One game gives you approximately 1 TH/S of power. Thats not a lot but it adds up.
- NEED TO KNOW: This power is NOT permanent. The power only lasts for 24 hours before it vanishes! OUCH - this seems bad but if you do about 10 games in 24 hours you will get a better computer and each game's power from then on will last 72 hours, if you do about 30 games then you will get an even better computer and each games power will then last 120 hours and finally if you manage about 60 games the machine will get better once more and power from then on will last 168 hours (or 7 days!).
- NEED TO KNOW: You computer upgrades from playing games will also diminish unless you continue to do at least one game every 24 hours! dont miss a day!
If you need to know more, ping me and I'll try to explain it better!
4 - Depending on your mining power you'll get a share of a BLOCK REWARD currently in BTC, DOGE, ETH or the games currency RLT satoshi. Your share of the block will depend on the total network power of all players.
5 - You can split your power between the different currencies how you like (go to "My Power" and then "Split Power")
TIP: - Not sure if it counts as a tip but I have put all of my power to RLT. You need RLT to get Miners (explained below).
6 - Miners - I dont have any yet but in short once you buy a rack (with Satoshi) you can then buy miners (with Satoshi (DONT!)) or with Rollertokens (RLT) (Do when there is a sale!). Why miners and man they are expensive??? - The miners will give you semi-permanent power that you dont need to play games for. Why semi-permanent - to force you to login every five days there is an electricity charge feature whereby you need to click at least once every five days to keep your miners operating.
7 - Referral Program
The referral program sounds great - you get 25% from referrals block rewards and 15% from their in-game purchases. This is great if you can get referrals - I have one (a close friend) and if you the reader are generous maybe I'll have a few more). I suspect this will be a good source of currency if you are one of those great networkers, or you do lots of youtube videos or similar.
So that sums up RollerCoin in a nutshell - do games, get power, earn currency, get miners, reduce the grind, continue to get currency.
A future post will set out my strategy for this and where I'm at!
Hope you enjoyed the introduction and please join up with my referral code (or just go to their website)
