Move on, Let go

By SXNXW | SXNXW Collective | 10 Mar 2020

"Move on, let go" I've heard countless number of people telling me this, and I'm sure many of you would have heard the same too.

Moving on, letting go isn't as simple as it sounds. Moving on implies undoing whatever you did in the name of love. Letting go implies ditching whatever dreams you once built with hope.

Moving on doesn't mean jumping from one track to another and making a mess of your life and someone else's too. It means to heal... to heal from deep within.

Why is it so tough to let go? Have you ever thought about it? How many of you are haunted by memories of the past? How many of you spend sleepless nights ruminating on what went wrong? How many of you cry yourself to sleep at night?

Remember it's not easy to move on or let go when you've been the one who has invested the most in love. When you have been the one building bridges across some fucking, forsaken landscape of nothingness hoping that flowers will bloom if you water them well.

It's a real pity when people just use you as a rebound or for some other stupid reason they themselves can't comprehend. But does that mean you must follow suit and do what has been done to you? No my friend, it would do you no good.

Some people are so lifeless that they will play with your emotions, act like you are special and that they need you - and finally dump you when they feel bored as if you meant nothing to them at all. So does that mean you are worthless? Take heart my friend, it's not your problem. They just don't realise what they lost, and they won't until boredom and indecisiveness strikes them again.

Sometimes you are like an exotic holiday in such people's lives. Too good to be true. You are a blessing my friend, a blessing because you can heal people. You can let go of all your sorrows and help people, mould them and nurture them. The problem is, once they heal, they have no purpose of having you in their lives anymore. And that's when your life goes spiralling out of control as you sink deeper into despair - so black and bleak - that nothing will ever feel the same again.

I know it's a really sad situation when this befalls you, for it leaves you with so much doubt that you start assailing yourself for no fault of yours, while those rotten fucking bastards and bitches go about as if nothing happened, and you alone are to be blamed for being an emotional wretch.

Trust me when I say this. Such people are like toxic radioactive waste that pollutes every life they touch. If they really know what love is, they would have understood your love. They wouldn't have left you. they wouldn't have used you. If they don't understand this and keep emotionally abusing you because you are always available, then stay away from such people. They will only make your lives miserable.

Never ever go out of your way to do things for such people. Never be the one to invest graciously on someone just because you love them to the hilt. Friendship, love, relationships.. these are all two-way processes. It's two individuals working in tandem to help each other grow. If that's not case, leave. Just leave.

I know you have a conscience and may thus feel it's not right to let go when you aren't sure if the other person loves you or not. Let me tell you this: people will tell you that they need you and that you are the only person they can trust. Well you aren't a garbage bag my friend: they have no right to seek you if they lead happy lives and remember you only when things go wrong. You have a life of your own; you are to be respected, and loved, and your worth out-trumps them by leaps and bounds.

Pack your bags and leave whenever you see a red flag. This is an advice coming from someone who has ignored every red flag in his life and got into such depressing situations that there's no coming back whatsoever. Just leave when you get an indication that someone is using you, lying to you or just emotionally trapping you in some honey snare, my friend.

Love is something really precious. It involves sacrificing. Sacrifices ought to come from both sides. If it's just you making all the sacrifices, you are doing nothing but courting a recipe for disaster.

Take time to heal. It may take months, it may take years. It's fine. Just because the world is losing it's head, doesn't mean you have to follow suit. Life is complicated. And if this wasn't enough, some people come into your lives and complicate it even further. Stay away from such people. They just need you to stifle their boredom. You are like a plug in a sink hole for them. That's it.

Always be clear with your intentions. It will save you from a lot of needless pain. Pain is pain. You are the one who has to deal with it. Friends, family - they are all there to support you no doubt, but when you have to sleep at night, you are the one who has to deal with the demons running helter-skelter in your head, and often, you have to do that alone.

Never ever let such situations kill the goodness in you. The world needs such people like you. For you are a voice of reason in a mad, mad world of deceit and shallowness. Love as much as you can. Your brokenness can heal someone. You have been blessed with so much of love in you that you possess the power to heal and inspire people. And that my friend is a blessing very few can call as their own.

Be careful when you deal with shattered people; people who create their own rules and force you to digest them too. You can sometimes heal brokenness with brokenness but don't let it consume your soul. You can break your heart a million times, you can feel pain, you can feel the stab, you can wallop in such darkness but never ever ever ever lose your soul. Your soul is what remains when everything else disappears. Yes I know all this sounds like some mumbo jumbo spirituality stuff, but trust me, I know better.

And if you ever feel you can't go on and life doesn't matter, please talk to someone; not a paid therapist but a good friend. Talk to a good friend, someone whom you trust; you will feel better.

Sometimes sui. might seem the best alternative, but trust me, it ain't. I have been on those dark paths before, and I know what helplessness can do to a person. It ain't worth it, my friend.

Love is not a lie. People may make you believe so. Circumstances may make you believe so. Just remember the world is bereft of love and so it doesn't real understand what love is. Love comes with a price tag These days. The way we define love is very different from the way our parents would have defined it. Love has come to have materialistic overtures these days. So be it. You can't change everyone.

It takes time to heal, to move on and let go. Take your time. But once you come out of it, never revisit them again. Someday those people might want to come back into your lives. Remember they left you for a reason. You are just an easy target for them always because you have a good heart. You don't deserve to be treated like shit again and again and again. No you dont. So once someone leaves and if they have left you in such a fashion that they have broken you into a million pieces, don't you ever ever entertain them again.

I pray that you shall find peace someday and spread the love that you were always meant to do so. This world needs people like you, for you are its conscience keepers, the ones we turn to when utter chaos reigns supreme. Love you all. Take care.
