As you may know by now, I am becoming a breathwork facilitator and I am an advocate for the health benefits of breathing consciously.
I want to share some news, I am currently following a training on holotropic breathwork.
Holotropic breathwork is a practice that involves controlling and quickening breathing patterns to influence mental, emotional, and physical states. Developed by psychiatrists Stanislav and Christina Grof in the 1970s, it aims to achieve altered states of consciousness without the use of drugs, serving as a therapeutic tool.
The goal of holotropic breathwork is to use accelerated breathing to increase self-awareness and cope with past traumas. It allows access to parts of the psyche that are usually hard to reach under normal conditions, potentially aiding in the treatment of conditions like depression, anxiety, and PTSD.
Here’s how it can help:
- Mental Clarity: It may provide a deeper understanding of oneself and promote personal development.
- Emotional Release: Participants often experience catharsis, which can lead to a feeling of awakening or emotional healing.
- Physical Health: It can improve circulation, reduce inflammation, and promote healing. It’s also associated with improved immune function and lower blood pressure.
It goes without saying, it’s important to approach holotropic breathwork with caution, as it’s a powerful technique that can have intense psychological effects. It’s recommended to practice under the guidance of a trained facilitator.
And as I would love to help people get in touch with their inner guiding and healing intelligence.
I have practiced myself this breathwork style 4 times, and it has helped me releasing emotional blockages.
I am really excited and I promise you a session in about 6 weeks time :)
